4-1 Introduction
This chapter describes the evaluation and use of the Western Digital Networks NVMe-oFTM bridge adapter
board codenamed Onyx, which contains the ASIC device codename Fuji.

QSFP28
Industry-standard Ethernet cage, designed to accept both copper and
optical cables.
Fuji Western Digital Networks’ “Fuji” NVMe-oF Bridge ASIC.
Flash
This SPI ash device contains the rmware (FW) that Fuji requires to
run.
EEPROM
The EEPROM on the Onyx board contains many board- and model-
specic data, plus conguration parameters.
Clocks System and I/O clock inputs to Fuji.
UART This microUSB port enables users to monitor Fuji’s console port.
LED
Onyx has 4 LEDs which enable the user to easy detect the general state
of Fuji.
TEST
The upper right side of Onyx contains two “edge nger” connectors.
There are for internal Western Digital testing only. No user-accessible
information is present on these connectors.
