1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Manifolds are used in water distribution systems, domestic services and heating systems. Each

pipe of the system is connected to a manifold, which allows the regulation and control of ﬂuid ﬂow

individually in each line with manual controls.

Manifolds are used on pipelines transporting liquid media, non-aggressive to the materials of the

device (water, antifreeze based on ethylene glycol). The maximum content of ethylene glycol in

antifreeze is 30%. Antifreeze should apply if systems operate at temperatures below 0°C.
