CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Attention! This product is a high precision device and requires careful handling. The

following recommendations will extend the life of the product:

- Do not point the product at the sun.

- Protect the product from bumps, falls and excessive vibration; do not let liquids,

construction dust and foreign objects get inside the product.

- Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures.

- If liquids get inside the product first remove batteries, then contact a service center.

- Do not store or use the product under high humidity conditions for a long time.

- Clean the product with soft wet cloth.

- Keep optical system of the product clean and protect it from mechanical damage.

- Сarry out control measurements occasionally, especially if the product is subject

to excessive mechanical or other impact, before and after making important

measurements.

Failure to observe the following instructions may lead to electrolyte leakage from the

batteries and damage the device:

- Remove the batteries from the battery chamber if the device is not used for a long

time.

- Do not use batteries of different types, with different change level.

- Do not leave discharged batteries in the device.

UTILIZATION

Expired tools, accessories and package should be passed for waste recycle. Please send

Do not throw the product in municipal waste!

According to European directive 2002/96/ЕC expired measuring tools and their

components must be collected separately and submitted to environmentally friendly

recycle of wastes.

WARRANTY

All CONDTROL GmbH products go through post-production control and are governed

by the following warranty terms. The buyer’s right to claim about defects and general

provisions of the current legislation do not expire.

1) CONDTROL GmbH agrees to eliminate all defects in the product, discovered during

the warranty period, that represent the defect in material or workmanship in full

volume and at its own expense.

2) The warranty period is 24 months and starts from the date of purchase by the end

customer (see the original supporting document).

3) The warranty doesn’t cover defects resulting from wear and tear or improper use,

malfunction of the product caused by failure to observe the instructions of this user

manual, untimely maintenance and service and insufficient care, the use of non-original

accessories and spare parts. Modifications in design of the product relieve the seller

from responsibility for warranty works. The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage,

that doesn’t hinder normal operation of the product.

4) CONDTROL GmbH reserves the right to decide on replacement or repair of the

product.

5) Other claims not mentioned above, are not covered by the warranty.

6) After holding warranty works by CONDTROL GmbH warranty period is not renewed

or extended.

7) CONDTROL GmbH is not liable for loss of profit or inconvenience associated with

a defect of the product, the rental cost of alternative equipment for the period of

repair.

This warranty applies to German law except provision of the United Nations Convention

on contracts for the international sale of goods (CISG).

MEASUREMENTS

1) Single measurement

Switch on the device. Short press to switch on the laser beam. Point the laser

beam at the target and short press to make measurement. To make another

distance measurement short press again. Press and hold during 3

seconds to record measurement result in memory.

To delete measurement, result short press .

2) Continuous measurement

Press and hold during 2 seconds. The device will take measurements one after

another, showing the last measured value as well as maximal and minimal measured

values.

Short press to stop measurements. Press and hold during 3 seconds

to record measurement result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

3) Area

Short press 1 time. Symbol will appear on the display. Short press

to make the 1st measurement (leng th). Short press to make the 2nd measurement

(width).

Result of area calculation will appear in the main display line. Press and hold during

3 seconds to record calculation result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

4) Volume

Short press 2 times. Symbol will appear on the display. Short press

to make the 1st measurement (length). Sho rt press to make the 2nd

measurement (width). Short press to make the 3rd measurement (height).

Result of volume calculation will appear in the main display line.

Press and hold during 3 seconds to record calculation result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

Indirect measurements (Pythagoras theorem)

1) Calculation of distance by 2 additional measurements (cathetus)

Short press 3 times. Symbol will appear on the display.

Measure length of lines А and В. Length of line X will be automatically calculated and

appear on the main display line. Line В must be perpendicular to line X and cannot be

longer than line A.

Press and hold during 3 seconds to record calculation result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

2) Calculation of distance by 2 additional measurements (hypotenuse)

function is available in SMART 50 PLUS only

Short press 4 times. Symbol appears on the display.

Measure length of lines А and В. Length of line X will be calculated automatically and

appear in the main display line. Line В must be perpendicular to line A.

Press and hold during 3 seconds to record calculation result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

3) Calculation of distance by 3 additional measurements (subtraction of 2 cathetuses)

function is available in SMART 50 PLUS only

Short press 5 times. Symbol appears on the display.

Measure lines А, В and С. Length of line X will be calculated automatically and appear in

the main display line.

Press and hold during 3 seconds to record calculation result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

4) Calculation of distance by 3 additional measurements (sum of cathetuses)

function is available in SMART 50 PLUS only

Short press 6 times. Symbol appear on the display.

Measure length of lines А, В and С. Length of line X will be calculated automatically and

appear in the main line.

Press and hold during 3 seconds to record calculation result in memory.

Short press to exit the mode.

Addition/subtraction of single measurements/areas/volumes

Make the 1st single measurement/calculation. Short press to activate addition or

to activate subtraction. Make the 2nd single measurement/calculation and short

press . Result of addition/subtraction of single measurements/calculations will

appear on the display.

Short press to exit the mode.

Memory

Short press to enter the memory. Short press and to flip through

measurement/calculation results stored in memory. Number of measurement/

calculation will appear in this indicator - . Short press to delete

measurement/calculation result from memory. Press and hold during 3 seconds

to clear the memory (delete all stored measurement/calculation results).

Short press or to exit the memory.
