1) Remove the rear derailleur from the hanger.

2) Install the Unior Hanger Genie and thread it in place of

derailleur by turning the handle clockwise.

3) Once the tool is installed on to the frame adjust the

length of the lower extension until the indicator is at the

rim’s outside edge.

3.1) Adjust the indicator so it just makes contact with the

outside edge of the rim at a 90° angle and secure it by

tightening the knob at the bottom of the extension.

4) Check the horizontal alignment rst by rotating the

Hanger Genie towards the right side of the rim (3 o´clock

position). Don´t forget to rotate the wheel so that the valve

hole is in line with the indicator.

5) Slightly rotate the lower extension so that the tip of the

indicator swings away from the rim and rotate the tool

180° towards the left side of the rim (9 o´clock position).

Spin the wheel so that the valve hole is also at 9 o’clock, and

then rotate the lower extension so the indicator again is at

90° to the rim’s outside edge.

The hanger is aligned if there is a gap of 3mm or less

between the tip of the indicator and the edge of the rim. If

the gap is larger, or if the indicator is being forced into the

rim, push or pull on the Hanger Genie to bend the hanger

so that the tip of the indicator is in line with the rim.

The indicator has to be reset after each adjustment. Repeat

the process starting at step 4 until the gap is less than 3mm

at both 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock.

6) Follow the same procedure as in steps 4 and 5 to check

the alignment of the derailleur hanger at 6 and 12 o’clock.

If the gap between the indicator and the rim is less than

3mm in both positions the derailleur hanger is aligned.

Verify the hanger is properly aligned by checking all four

points once again.

7) When using the Unior Hanger Genie on bikes with 20”

wheels an oset indicator should be used in order to reach

the edge of the rim.

To install the oset indicator, simply loosen the knob at the

bottom of the tool, pull the standard indicator out and push

the oset indicator in place.

3.1
