5.2.1 CONNECTION TO THE MAINS
The electrical connection must be carried out following the wiring diagram (g. 3) given on the bottom of motor cover.
Before proceeding with wiring, you should remove the top cover (g. 1 - POS. 2)
6. PUMP START-UP
6.1 FILLIG AND AIR REMOVAL
Given that the impeller is immersed in water and placed on special bearings, that are also lubricated by water, before
starting the pump you must ll it with water and remove the air. To vent the pump, remove the screw tted on the rear
side of the electric motor (g. 1 POS. 5), that allows air to be expelled through the hole between the motor shaft and the
bearing. When the water begins to ow out, you have to close the valves both on the intake and the delivery lines. Now
start the pump and check the direction of rotation. If the shaft is moving in incorrect direction, the red indicator light starts
ashing. The pump can also signal other malfunctions that are described in the table below. The number of ashes of the
red light indicate the number of the fault. Each series of ashes is followed by a longer interval: the number of ashes
between two intervals indicates the code of the fault.
The pump can reach high temperatures, depending on the operating conditions of the pump and the
system (uid temperature). Do not touch the pump! Burn hazard!
6.2 PUMP SPEED ADJUSTMENT
Each pump can operate according to 3 specic curves, due to the possibility to set the motor at 3 different speeds. Select
the desired curve
using the key (g. 1 - POS. 4) that switches motor's speed. The speed of MR pumps (auto)
can be set both manually, setting the curves
with the key , and automatically by the pump itself, if the automatic
regulation is set
or (night-time operation) using the key . In automatic mode, the pump automatically selects
the speed
based on the momentary ow rate. During night-time operation the uid temperature is measured and
if the value gradually decreases below 10°C the pump automatically switches to speed
; if the temperatures drops
by at least 20°C, the pump automatically switches to speed
. When the temperature of the uid increases again and
reaches at least 20° C, the pump switches to variable automatic operation within the different curves, according to the
ow rate. This operating mode is suitable for systems equipped with thermostatic valves and those in which the overnight
temperature drops.
