mum mark. Minimum and maximum marks are identified by embossed markings in the inside of
the kettle or on the water sight gauge.
NOTE. Do not use hot tap water to fill the kettle and allow the cold water to run for three or four sec-
onds before filling to ensure the water is fresh.
3. Push the button Switch (5) down. The kettle will automatically Switch (5) itself off when boiled.
4. Before pouring the boiled water ensure that the mains socket is Switched off and the load is dis-
connected from the kettle.
5. Should the kettle be Switched on whilst empty or with insufficient water it will automatically
Switch off. Wait until the element cools, refill with cold water and use as normal.
6. Ensure that the water is above the medium mark on the inside of the kettle.
7. Make sure the Lid (2) is correctly and securely fitted before Switching on. Failure to do this will
result in the kettle not switching off and boiling water may be ejected.

9. The kettle is supplied with a scale guard to stop large places of harmless lime scale from enter-
ing your drink.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
1. Always disconnect the kettle from the mains when cleaning the one.
2. Ensure the kettle is not hot and has had time to cool before cleaning.
3. Appliance should be regularly wiped (both inside and outside) using soft cloth and gentle liquid
detergent. Do not use abrasive cleansers or materials, this will damage the finish of the appli-
ance.
4. In the course of normal usage, deposits will be seen to accumulate on the surface of the heal-
ing element if not removed. These deposits can significantly impair the operation and product
life of the appliance. Regular rescaling by the user is recomended as often as deposits are seen
to cover large portions of the element. For decaling purposes use a solution of 5% household
vinegar and 95% water. Pour the liquid so that it only covers the heating element. Boil once. Let
stand for 10 minutes after shut-off. Pour out solution and rinse kettle. Repeat if necessary.
5. To clean the scale guard place under a tap and brush using a nylon bnisli. Soak in a descaling
agent and brush gently then rinse.
