- The water softener must be set manually using the water hardness dial the water softener is designed to remove minerals and salts from the water which would have a detrimental or adverse effect on the operation of the appliance the higher the content of these minerals and salts the harder your water is the softener should be adjusted according to the hardness of the water in your area your local water authority can advise you on the hardness of the water in your area 8
- Unscrew the cap from the salt container 2 there is a ring on the container with an arrow on it see figure on the side if necessary rotate the ring in the anticlockwise direction from the setting toward the sign based on the hardness of the water being used it is recommended that adjustments should be made in accordance with the following scheme 8
