3-1. Using the air conditioning system and defogger

 Fogging up of the front side door windows

 Outside/recirculated air mode (vehicles with an outside/recirculated air

mode lever)

When driving on dusty roads such as tunnels or in heavy traffic, set the out-

side/recirculated air mode lever to the recirculated air mode. This is effective

in preventing outside air from entering the vehicle interior. During cooling

operation, setting the recirculated air mode will also cool the vehicle interior

effectively.

 When the indicator light on goes off by itself (vehicles

with a cooling and dehumidification function on/off button)

Press to turn off the dehumidification function and turn it on

again. There may be a problem in the air conditioning system if the indicator

light goes off again. Turn the air conditioning system off and have it

inspected by any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly quali-

fied and equipped professional.

 When the outside temperature falls to nearly 0°C (32°F) (vehicles with a

cooling and dehumidification function on/off button)

The dehumidification function may not operate even when is

pressed.

The front side door windows can be

quickly defogged by turning the side

vents to the windows.
