To prevent subsequent damage to the buffer cylinder:
B Use installation material that is heat-resistant to
110 °C.
B For solar connections, use installation materials that
are heat-resistant up to 135 °C.
B Use only threaded fittings, with shut-off valves if
required, to connect lines to the cylinder.
B Install a drain valve on site at the lowest point of the
lower connection.
Checking for leaks
Æ Fig. 10, page 103.
5.3 Installing the temperature sensors
Æ Fig. 9, page 102:
B Apply heat conducting paste to the contact surfaces.
B Insert the temperature sensor into the spring clip so
that the full length of its contact surface is flush with the
cylinder vessel.
B Mark the temperature sensor leads at the end of each
lead.
B Route the sensor lead carefully to the control unit,
ensuring it will be possible to fit the insulation.
5.4 Fitting the thermal insulation
5.4.1 Fitting the 80 mm thermal insulation
Æ Fig. 11, page 103.
5.4.2 Fitting the 120 mm thermal insulation
Æ Fig. 12, page 103.
5.5 Fitting the sensor well (optional)
B To measure and monitor the water temperature in the
buffer cylinder, fit the temperature sensor to the test
point.
B Guide the temperature sensor with the spring clip into
the sensor well.
5.6 Electrical connection
B Route the sensor leads to the control unit.
B Make the electrical connections of the sensor leads
observe the control unit installation instructions.
NOTE: Risk of material damage from leaking
connections and exceeding the maximum
values.
B Fit all connection lines free of mechanical
strain.
B In order not to damage the buffer cylinder,
maintain the maximum values (Æ Table 3,
page 4 and Table 5, pageSeite 4).
Ensure that the full length of the sensor
surface is in contact with the cylinder vessel.
The thermal insulation is best fitted at
temperatures around 15 °C. Lightly tapping
the thermal insulation towards the two ends
makes it easier to bring the ends together.

If you are using an immersion heater, the
thermal insulation for the immersion heater
connection and the cover are not required.
We recommend completing the installation
and tightness test before fitting the thermal
insulation.
Logalux PR
The female connection for fitting a sensor
well on site is located on the rear of the buffer
cylinder. Here, a sensor well can be fitted to
contain the temperature sensor (Æ Fig. 9,
page 102).
DANGER: Risk to life through electric
shock!
B Ensure that any electrical work is only
carried out by an approved electrician.
B Before opening the control unit, isolate the
heating system from the mains power
supply.
B Secure the heating system against
unintentional reconnection.
