Gebruik van de PlayStation

®Eye-camera

• Stel de camera niet bloot aan hoge temperaturen, een hoge vochtigheidsgraad of direct zonlicht

(alleen gebruiken in een omgeving met een temperatuur tussen 5°C en 35°C).

• Voorkom dat er vocht of kleine deeltjes in de camera komen.

• Zet geen zware voorwerpen op de camera.

• Haal de camera niet uit elkaar en modiceer hem niet.

• Vouw de aansluitkabel niet dubbel en trek er niet aan.

• Laat de camera niet vallen, gooi er niet mee en beschadig hem ook niet op een andere manier.

• Raak de metalen onderdelen van de USB-aansluiting van de PlayStation®Eye- camera niet aan.

Steek geen vreemde voorwerpen in de USB-aansluiting.

• Plaats de camera niet op een onstabiele ondergrond.

• Zorg ervoor dat je genoeg ruimte hebt om te spelen.

De PlayStation®Eye-camera reinigen

Na verloop van tijd kan zich stof op de camera ophopen.

• Koppel de camera los van het PlayStation®3-systeem voordat je de camera reinigt.

• Veeg de camera schoon met een droge, zachte doek.

• Verwijder stof van de lens met behulp van perslucht.

Opmerkingen

• Dit product bevat kleine onderdelen. Zorg ervoor dat kinderen deze onderdelen niet inslikken.

• De camera moet worden gereinigd door een volwassene of onder streng toezicht van een

volwassene.

• Reinig de camera niet met een vochtige doek. Als er water in de camera komt, kan dat tot

storingen leiden.

• Gebruik geen wasbenzine, verfverdunner of andere chemicaliën. Deze kunnen de camera

beschadigen.

• Als je de camera reinigt met een speciale schoonmaakdoek, gebruik deze dan volgens de bij de

doek geleverde gebruiksaanwijzing.

De PlayStation®Eye-camera aansluiten

Steek de USB-aansluiting van de camera stevig in een van de USB-aansluitingen aan de voorkant

van het PlayStation®3-systeem. De blauwe LED voedingsindicatie aan de voorkant van de camera

gaat branden om aan te geven dat de camera klaar is voor gebruik.

De PlayStation®Eye-camera loskoppelen

Trek de USB-aansluiting van de camera voorzichtig uit het

PlayStation®3-systeem. Trek niet aan de kabel zelf, want deze kan

hierdoor beschadigen. Als je de camera tijdens het spelen loskoppelt,

worden er geen beelden meer verzonden.

De PlayStation®Eye-camera gebruiken

We raden aan om op een afstand van 1,5 à 2 meter van de camera te gaan staan.

Draai de lenshoekregelaar naar de gewenste stand. Draai de lenshoekregelaar naar rechts, zodat

de lenshoekmarkering in lijn staat met de blauwe lenshoekindicatie. Dit is de groothoekstand.

Of draai de lenshoekregelaar naar links, zodat de lenshoekmarkering in lijn staat met de rode

lenshoeksindicatie. Dit is het standaardbeeld.

Als je camera op de grond staat, kantel deze dan iets omhoog of draai aan de camerastandaard

om de camera wat hoger te zetten. Spelers met een andere lengte kunnen de hoek van de camera

veranderen. Verplaatst NIET de hele camera, kantel hem alleen voorzichtig.

Zorg ervoor dat er zo weinig mogelijk beweging is op de achtergrond, omdat deze bewegingen de

gameplay kunnen beïnvloeden. Zorg er ook voor dat je genoeg ruimte hebt om te spelen. Pas op

voor boekenplanken, deuren, muren, huisdieren en, vooral, andere mensen.

Problemen oplossen

De PlayStation®Eye-camera herkent je bewegingen niet.

– Wellicht zijn er problemen met de verlichting van je kamer.

– Controleer of er geen knipperende lampen zijn en dat je van voren gelijkmatig wordt belicht.

– Voorkom zoveel mogelijk het gebruik van spaarlampen en tl-buizen en doe alle beschikbare

lampen aan.

De knoppen in beeld worden geactiveerd zonder dat je iets doet.

– Er is mogelijk beweging op de achtergrond.

– Zorg ervoor dat er op de achtergrond zo weinig mogelijk beweging is.

– Als er zich achter je een raam bevindt, sluit dan de gordijnen en gebruik kunstlicht.

Je verschijnt te licht of te donker in beeld.

– De verlichting van je kamer is niet goed.

– Als je te donker in beeld verschijnt, doe dan alle lampen in de kamer aan en richt ze op jezelf.

– Als je te licht in beeld verschijnt, sluit dan de gordijnen en gebruik kunstlicht.

Je ziet jezelf niet in beeld.

– De camera is niet aangesloten.

– De camera staat niet goed gericht.

Thank you for purchasing the EyeToy® USB Camera (for PlayStation®2). Before using this product,

carefully read this manual and retain it for future reference.

This EyeToy® USB Camera is designed for use with the PlayStation

®2 computer entertainment system.

WARNING

To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain or moisture.

Precautions

Safety

This product has been designed with the highest concern for safety. However, any electrical device, if

used improperly, has the potential for causing fire, electrical shock or personal injury. To ensure accident-

free operation, be sure to follow these guidelines.

• Observe all warnings, precautions and instructions.

• Do not use the device if it functions in an abnormal manner.

Use and handling

• Do not expose the EyeToy® USB Camera to high temperatures, high humidity or direct sunlight

(operate in an environment where temperatures range between 5 °C – 35 °C).

• Do not allow liquid or small particles to get into the EyeToy® USB Camera.

• Do not put heavy objects on the EyeToy® USB Camera.

• Never disassemble or modify the EyeToy® USB Camera.

• Do not twist the cable or pull it forcibly.

• Do not throw or drop the EyeToy® USB Camera, or subject it to strong physical shock.

• Do not touch the metal parts or insert foreign objects into the connector for the

EyeToy® USB Camera.

• Do not place, or use, the EyeToy® USB Camera on an unstable surface.

• Make sure you have enough room to play.

Cleaning the EyeToy® USB Camera

After using the EyeToy® USB Camera for an extended period of time, you may find that dust has

collected on the unit.

• Before cleaning the EyeToy® USB Camera, be sure to disconnect it from the PlayStation

®2

console for safety.

• Wipe off the surface of the EyeToy® USB Camera with a soft, dry cloth.

• Use air pressure to clean off any dust that has collected on the lens.

Notes

• This product contains small parts, which, if removed, may present a choking hazard to children.

• Any cleaning of the EyeToy® USB Camera should be done by an adult, or under close

adult supervision.

• Do not use a moistened cloth to clean the EyeToy® USB Camera. If water gets inside, it may cause

the camera to malfunction.

• Do not use benzene, paint thinner, or other chemicals, as these may damage the EyeToy®

USB Camera.

• When using a commercially available cleaning cloth, follow the instructions supplied with the cloth.

Connecting the EyeToy® USB Camera

Holding the connector for the EyeToy® USB Camera with the USB mark facing up, securely insert the

connector into either USB connector on the front of the PlayStation

®2 console. The LED power indicator

(blue) on the front of the camera should light up blue to indicate that the EyeToy® USB Camera is now

ready to use.

You can connect or disconnect the

EyeToy® USB Camera while the

console is turned on. However,

software functionality may be

impaired while the EyeToy® USB

Camera remains unplugged.

Disconnecting the EyeToy® USB Camera

To disconnect the EyeToy® USB Camera, pull it out by the connector. Do not pull on the cable itself as

this may damage it.

Removal of the EyeToy® USB Camera during play will result in termination of the live feed.

Using the EyeToy® USB Camera

The usage and function of the EyeToy® USB Camera may vary depending on the software in use. See

the appropriate software manual for details.

Focusing the EyeToy® USB Camera

The player’s on-screen image may need to be focused. Do this by rotating the

manual focus ring on the front of the camera.

Adjusting the angle of the EyeToy® USB Camera

The EyeToy® USB Camera must be positioned so that the

player’s image is centred on the screen. Do this by holding

the camera base steady and gently tilting the camera body.

Troubleshooting

If you experience any of the following difficulties while using the EyeToy® USB Camera (for PlayStation®2),

use this troubleshooting guide to help remedy the problem. Should any problem persist, call the

appropriate PlayStation

® customer service number which can be found:

– within every PlayStation

® and PlayStation®2 format software manual; and

– on our website www.playstation.com

Your on-screen image appears bright or too dark and the red LED is flashing.

- The lighting in the room is not suitable.

- If your on-screen image looks dark, switch on all available lighting in the room and point them at you.

- If your on-screen image looks too bright, draw the curtains and use artificial light instead.

You cannot see yourself on-screen.

- The EyeToy® USB Camera is not plugged in.

- The EyeToy® USB Camera is not positioned correctly.

- Position the camera either on top of your television set, or on top of your PlayStation

®2 console.

On-screen image is blurred.

- The camera has not been focused correctly.

- Rotate the manual focus ring on the front of the EyeToy® USB Camera until your body shape is

clearly defined on the screen.

The software seems to be picking up extra movement.

- The EyeToy® USB Camera is reacting to your environment.

- Make sure that the background behind you is as motionless as possible.

Votre image est trop foncée ou trop claire et le voyant rouge clignote.

- Faites tourner la bague de mise au point manuelle à l'avant de la caméra USB EyeToy® jusqu'à ce que

le contour du joueur se dessine nettement à l'écran.

Le logiciel semble détecter des mouvements supplémentaires.

- La caméra USB EyeToy® réagit à votre environnement.

Collegamento della telecamera USB EyeToy®

Tenendo il contrassegno USB rivolto verso l'alto, inserire saldamente il connettore della telecamera USB

EyeToy® in uno dei connettori USB presenti sul lato anteriore della console PlayStation

®2. La spia di

accensione LED (blu) sul lato anteriore della telecamera si illuminerà a indicare che la telecamera USB
