12. TROUBLESHOOTING

If you encounter a fault that is not contemplated in the following table, contact the nearest authorized dealer.

PROBLEM CAUSE ACTION

The pump fails to start

The pump starts but immediately stops

An obstacle is preventing float movement Remove the obstacle

Power failure Request electrical company intervention

Large voltage fluctuation Request electrical company intervention

Float switch malfunction or defect, etc. Repair or replace the level switch, etc.

Protection switch triggered by earth fault Repair the section where current is dispersed

The pump has sucked in a foreign object Remove the foreign object

The motor has burnt out Repair or replace the motor

A motor bearing is broken Repair or replace the bearing

Mechanical seal is stuck Repair or replace the mechanical seal

The pump starts but stops

after a short period of time

Dry operations for a prolonged period caused

the motor protection to trip

Prolonged dry operations Increase the minimum water level

Over current Refer to the section of over current

Insufficient flow

Opposite rotation Reverse the two phases

Gate valve broken Repair or replace the gate valve

Large voltage drop Request electrical company intervention

Pump operations from 60 Hz to 50 Hz Check nameplate

High head Review system layout

Significant leaks in the pipes Review system layout

Low water level that causes air to be sucked in Increase the water level or lower the pump position

Large power voltage fluctuations Request electrical company intervention

Large voltage drop Request electrical company intervention

Loss of phase Inspect the power connections and circuit breaker

Pump operations from 50 Hz to 60 Hz Check nameplate

Pump operations with opposite rotation direction Check rotation direction (see chapter 9)

Excessive flow

Reduce gate valve opening. If no gate valve is used,

replace the pump with an adequate one

The pump sucked in a foreign object Remove the foreign object

The motor bearing is broken Repair or replace the bearing
