REPLACING THE STRINGS

Replace the strings when worn out. Use 3×3 square strings. Make sure the strings are 430 mm before

inserting them into the appropriate holes (fig. 5). Make sure they do not come in touch with the

machine while rotating.

CAUTION: never replace the strings with the engine running.

CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

To adjust the cutting height, insert the strings in the holes at various heights (fig. 6 – 7, pos. A-B).

TROUBLESHOOTING

The following is a list of small problems which may occur during the use of the wheeled trimmer, which

the operator himself can remedy.

1) If the engine does not start:

- the fuel tank must be at least half full

- if the engine is cold the choke must be engaged

- the fuel must reach the carburettor

- the vent hole on the tank cap must not be blocked.

- the carburettor nozzles must be clean. To check them, unscrew and clean them with an air jet if

dirty.

- the plug must provide a spark. To check if it works, remove the plug reconnect it to the power

supply cable, rest the metal part on an electrical ground and turn the engine pulley as if to start it. If

no spark is seen between the two electrodes, try checking the plug cable connections and if power

is still not received, replace the plug. If the new plug still fails to work, the problem is in the

electrical system and you should contact your nearest service centre or authorized dealer.

2) The strings do not rotate properly:

- check that the right red lever if fully pressed (fig. 1, n. 2). If the strings do not turn, use the wire

adjusting screw (fig. 1, n. 4).

- make sure that the belt has not come out of its position on the pulleys. To check it remove the

cover below the machine (fig. 6).

- check that the engaging wire has not come out of the cramp on the belt tightener lever.

3) Poor cut quality:

- make sure that the cutting diameter has not reduced too much and that that the strings are not

worn out. Replace them if necessary.

- the belt could slip. In this case adjust it via the adjusting screw of the engaging wire (fig. 1, n. 4).

4) The engine does not switch off:

- check that the throttle lever is fully closed – STOP position.

PERIOD OF LONG-TERM STORAGE

If the wheeled trimmer is to be out of use for a long period:

- fully drain the fuel from the tank.

- thoroughly clean both the machine and the engine.
