Note thermostat
Clockwise rotation of the dial lowers the room temperature,
counterclockwise rotation of the dial increases the room
temperature.
3.6. Operation
In order to avoid compressor damage, it is necessary to switch
on the crankcase heater for at least six hours before starting
the compressor after a long period of standstill.
(only for EFR-JB and for EUC3JB units)
- Turn on the mainpower switch.
- Cooling
First press the fan and then the cooling button.
- Heating (only in case a heater kit is installed)
First press the fan and then the heating button.
- Cooling/heating (only in case a heater kit is installed)
Press the fan and cooling/heating button.
- To stop the unit, press the OFF button.
Emergency stop
In case of emergency, immediately switch off the circuit
breaker on the local supply panel.
Note
- It is advisable to provide the windows with solar screens to limit
the influence of direct solar heat in the room, and so allow an
economical climate control.
- To operate your air conditioner with maximum efficiency and in
an economical way, it is recommended not to leave the doors
and windows unnecessarily open in the airconditioned space.
4. MAINTENANCE
4.1. Replace the air filter(s) regularly.
4.2. Disposal requirements
Dismantling of the unit, treatment of the refrigerant, oil and
eventual other parts, should be done in accordance with the
relevant local and national regulations.
5. TROUBLESHOOTING
If trouble happens, first check following items.
- The air conditioner does not operate at all.
Check - If no fuse is blown.
- If there is no power failure.
- If the power switch is turned on.
- The fan works but the compressor is inoperative.
The temperature in the room is lower than the set value of the
thermostat.
NOTES
- Cooling (or heating) is insufficient.
Check - If the air filters are not clogged.
- If there is no unforeseen heat (or cool) source.
- If there is no window or door open.
- If the temperature setting is good.
- If the fan rotates in the right direction. (CONSULT
YOUR DAIKIN DEALER)
- if the air circulation is not obstructed by obstacles.
The unit stops soon after starting the operation and the
red lamp lights up and switches off after a short period.
(not for EFV-JB units)
Check - If the unit is not clogged or has no shortage of
refrigerant. (CONSULT YOUR DAIKIN DEALER)

The high pressure switch has functioned.
EFV+EFR
Check - if the air in- and outlet of the outdoor unit is not
obstructed.
- if the condenser surface is not blocked with dust
and/or dirt. Clean the condenser surface.
- if the fan of the outdoor unit rotates reversely. If so,
consult your Daikin dealer.
EUC
Check - if there is (sufficient) cooling water supply.
- if there is an obstruction in the air- or waterside of
the cooling tower.
- if there is waterscale in the condenser. If so,
consult your Daikin dealer.
