Whenoperatingonaduplexchannelsystem(forexample,
a repeater station),TA Scan allows the transceiver to
searchbothtransmitandreceivefrequenciesonyourdu-
plexsystem.
When a signal is encountered on the receive frequency,
the transceiver will pause until the signal disappears.
When asignal is encountered onthetransmit frequency,
thetransceiver willcheck foractivityonthereceive fre-
quencyeveryfewseconds(intervalprogrammedbyyour
VertexStandarddealer).
Note:TheTAScanfeaturedoesnotactivateonaSimplex
Channel.

theTalkAroundfeaturewhenyouareoperatingonduplex
channel systems (separate receive and transmit frequen-
cies, utilizing a “repeater” station). The TalkAround
featureallowsyoutobypasstherepeaterstationandtalk
directlytoastationthatisnearby.Thisfeaturehasnoef-
fectwhenyouareoperatingon“simplex”channels,where
thereceiveandtransmitfrequenciesarealreadythesame.
Notethatyourdealermayhavemodeprovisionfor“Talk
Around” channelsby programming “repeater”and“Talk
Around”frequenciesontwoadjacentchannels.Ifso,the
key may be used for one of the other Pre-Programmed
Functions.

plexChannel.
