VII. INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATION(GN9-26Models)
REPLACEMENT OF NEEDLE(SEE P4)
2.STEPS OF THREADING
Steps of Double threading of OK9-25Models(See Fig 1 2) Step
for top-threading: pull out the thread from the spool on post
A,pass it through the hole A1 of the passing bar, and pass it
through the hc!e A2 of top passing bar. Then after 'ounding it
over the thread tension disc(9R9),pass it through hole A3 and
hole A4 of the top passing bar. hole AS of the needle bar and
hole A6 of the botom plate. Finally, downwards along the plate.
and the front groove of the needle, pass the thread through the
needle eye A7 and putt out it 90-100mm long in excess.
Step for bottom-threading: Putt out the thread from spool B,
and pass it through hole 81 and hole B2 of the passing bar, and
hole B3 of the bottom passing bar, then after rounding it over the
thread tension dis (9R9) and the bottom passing plate B4pass
the thread through the hole of the frama(B5) and slip it into hole
B6 of the thread trapping groov and through hole B7 of the
trapping needle, and finally pass the thread along the groove
into hole B8 at the tip of the trapping needle and puN out 90-
100mm of the thread for starting sewing.
3. SPECFICATIONS AND SELECTION OF THREAD
The machine requires 21-counl cotton thread of 12-18 plies
or similar sized thread spun from fibers of linen or rayon. The
thread must be winded on a cone spindle of paper board that is
to be set in place in the spool by tightening the knurled nut.
To achieve proper sewing quality the following requirements
should be satisfied no matter what kind of thread is used:
(1) The thread should-be constantly uniform in size and
without knots.
(2) The thread should be soft and smooth without floss. and
the plying of fibers should be compact with a flex ibity
and tensibitty.
(3) The thread should be uniform in twist and over twisting in
the thread is undesirable. For tasting, cut off one me ter
of the thread and hold its two ends to form a circle and a
proper thread win twist into no more than 6 small loops.
4.ADJUSTMENT OF THREAD TENSION (SEE FLO 3)
Thread tension is the main factor influencing the inte sity of
stitches. Too weak tension will lead to a loose chain-stitch and
result in a leaky bag. Too strong tension will make the chain-
stitch creased and short of elasticity. Thus, when subjecting to a
rather strong impaction, spilled bag due to chain-broken will
appear.
It is recommended to reduce the tension when sewing on
thick and compact materials and increase the tension on thin
and loose materials, Adjustment of tension can be accompished
through regulation of thread tension nut(9L3), the more this nut
is scrwede on, the tighter the seam is, the more it is screwed off,
the looser the stitch is.
5. THE PROPER RELATIVE POSITIONS OF NEEDLE AND
HOOK(SEE FIG.4)
See fig 4 for the formation of double stitches and the po-
sition of the hook:
(1) When the needle comes down to its lowest point, the
distance between the needle tip and the race of needle
plate is to be about 21mm, and the distance between the
hook tip and the needle axis is to be about 5mm.(Fig.4-
1)
(2) While the hook is carrying a thread loop, the hook plane
comes to the needle notch with a gap no greater than
1mm. When the hook comes into contact with the needle.
the distance between the hook tip and the top of the
needle eye should be 2.5mmr3mm(Fig.4-2).
