using your product. Please go to www.philips-hue.com to learn more about HUE and how to use it. This manual B contains denitions of
all potentially applicable parameters & specications with icons, as per International norms and safety standards. However not all of them
may be applicable for the product you purchased - please refer to the icons in the Manual A, for the ones which are particularly applicable
for this product.

The Hue bridge contains open software. The related license texts and the distribution procedure can be found with a web browser by
opening the http page of the Hue bridge. Wireless specication: Wireless RF mode frequency band: 2400-2483.5 MHz Operating

The manufacturer advises the correct use of lighting ttings! Therefore always follow these instructions to ensure correct and safe
installation and functioning of the tting, and keep them for future reference. Always consult a professional in advance, for choosing the
right fastener for a secure mounting of the product. Take into account the weight of the product and the material of the mounting surface.
If in doubt, consult a qualied or licensed electrician or contact your retail outlet. Ensure the product is always installed according to
relevant regulations. Certain regulations indicate that electrical products must be installed only by a licensed electrician (e.g. Part P for the
UK, AS/NZS3000 IN for AUSTRALIA /NEW ZEALAND). Always switch o the power prior to installation, maintenance or repair activities.
Observe the correct colour of the wiring before installation: blue (N), brown (L) and if protection class I, yellow/green (earth). If an
electrostatic discharge occurs, the product may malfunction and require the user to reset the product. Mount wall lights out of children's
reach. If the product is mounted on a metallic surface, this surface must be bonded to the protective earth conductor or to the
equipotential bonding conductor of the installation. Always tighten the terminal screws rmly, especially attachments for low voltage
wiring (12 V) (if applicable). It is highly recommended to regularly check and re-tighten the terminal screws over time. Keep packaging
materials out of children's reach. (e.g. plastic bags,...). Maintain interior lighting with a dry cloth duster, do not use abrasives or solvents.
Avoid liquids on all electrical parts. Immediately replace a cracked or broken translucent cover and only use manufacturer approved parts.
Safety Instructions when using batteries/rechargeable batteries: Charge batteries every 3 months to ensure lifetime of the product.
Batteries should be installed by an adult. Dierent types of batteries and new and used batteries must not be mixed. Batteries are to be
inserted with the correct polarity. The supply terminals must not be short-circuited. Exhausted batteries must be removed from the
product. Remove batteries when the product is not in use for some time. Remove rechargeable batteries from the product before being
charged. Charge rechargeable batteries only under adult supervision. Non-rechargeable batteries must not be charged. Risk of explosion
if the battery is replaced by an incorrect replacement. Warnings and cautions for products using coin/button batteries: Keep new and
used batteries away from children. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just two hours and can
lead to death. If you think that batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical
attention. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. CAUTION! Do not
ingest battery Chemical burn hazard. Safety Instructions for products with separate power supply unit: Only use supplied power supply
unit. Product can be damaged when using a power supplyunit of another manufacturer. Do not open the power supply unit for your own safety.
Batteries should be disposed separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities.
ATTENTION: Below you will nd all the explanations with numeric reference to the icons respectively in front of these safety instructions:
1 The product should only be installed indoors.
2 The product is not suitable for installation in bathrooms, certainly not in the specied zone.
3 The product is not suitable for direct mounting on normally ammable surfaces.
4 The product is not suitable for covering with thermally insulating material.
5 The product is only suitable for mounting on the ceiling.
6 The product is only suitable for mounting on the wall.
7 The product is suitable for mounting on the wall or on the ceiling.
8 Always take into consideration the minimum distance, as indicated on the icon, between the lamp and the lighted object.
9 IPX1: The product is protected against dripping water. IPX3: The product may be exposed to raindrops (falling drops under a maximum
angle of 60° to the vertical axis). IPX4: The product is splash-proof: it may be exposed to splashing water coming from any direction
(360°). IPX5: The product is protected against water jets. IPX7: The product can be installed into the ground. IPX8: The product is
protected against immersion up to the indicated depth. • IP5X: The product is dust protected. IP6X: The product is dust tight.
10 Protection class I: the product or component has an earthing connection. The earth wire (yellow/green) has to be connected to the
terminal marked with class I logo
11 Protection class II: the product or component is provided with double or reinforced insulation.
12 Protection class III: the product or component is only suitable for safety extra low voltage supply (<50Va.c.; <120Vd.c.).
13 Strip the wire as indicated on the icon.
14 The earthing wire always has to be longer than the brown live (L) and blue neutral (N) wire.
15 The use of the supplied heat-resistant sleeving is required over the unstripped wire lengths.
16 The product is only suitable for wiring directly to the electrical mains supply.
17 In case of damage to the wire: X-connection; Replace it by a wire of the same type. • Y-connection; Only to be replaced by the
manufacturer, distributor or by an expert, to avoid risks. • Z-connection: The cord cannot be replaced, the luminaire shall be destroyed.
18 MAX. …W: only use bulbs suitable for this product and keep within the maximum specied wattage.
19 The product is dimmable with the supplied dimmer or with a (not included) dimmer connected to the electrical installation of the
home. For reference please visit "www.philips.com". Consult a qualied electrician for choosing the suitable dimmer type.
20 Product is dimmable with Hue compatible devices and applications. Do not connect to an additional dimmer.
21 The dimmability features depend on the chosen lamp.
