Important In order for other to receive your transmission they must also be on the same channel that you are using Refer to the Changing Channel section for more information When the PTT and or CALL buttons are continuously pressed your unit can not receive any transmissions 3 5 Roger Beep tone The Roger beep tone which is automatically transmitted whenever the PTT button is released This alerts the receiving party that you have ended the transmission and you are now in receive mode 3 6 Changing Channel The PMR has 8 available channels To change channel in normal mode a Press the Menu button the channel icon 1 will start flashing b Press the Q or Q button to select the desired channel The channel changes from 1 to 8 or vice versa TJ c Press the m Menu button to confirm your setting and return to standby mode Note Referto the Channel Frequency table section of this Owner s Manual for detailed frequency listing 3 7 Call Tone You can use the Call tone to send a tone to other users on the same channel To activate this features a In the standby mode press and release this 0 button The unit will transmit a 2 seconds page tone to the other units with the same channel within transmitting range 3 8 To Lock the buttons With the buttons lock you can still transmit TX receive or call the current channel but you can not change the volume To activate this features In the standby mode press and hold the Menu m button until lock IEJ O icon appears on the LCD screen To unlock the buttons m Press and hold again the Menu m button until the lock OH icon will disappear on the LCD screen 4 Auxi 11 iary features 4 1 PowerSaving Your PMR unit has special circuitry designed to extend the life of your battery When the unit is not used for 4 seconds it will automatically switch into a low power mode The power saving feature does not affect the PMR abilitv to receive transmissions When a sional is detected it automaticallv
