• Do not use the oven without its glass tray and drive
mechanism.
• Make sure the power cord is not damaged and does
not run under the oven or over any hot or sharp sur-
faces.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROUNDING THE OVEN
The microwave oven should be properly grounded. In
case of any kind of short-circuit, grounding reduces the
risk of electric shock, as the current will flow through
the ground wire. The microwave oven uses a power
cord with ground wire and a grounded plug. The plug
should be connected to an electrical outlet that also has
a ground contact.
WARNING: connecting a grounded plug to an un-
grounded outlet can lead to electric shock.
Consult with a qualified electrician if you do not under-
stand these grounding instructions or if you are not sure
that the microwave oven is properly grounded.
In order to avoid confusion, the microwave oven is
equipped with a short power cord.
If an extension cord is necessary, only use a 3-wire ex-
tensions cord with ground contacts on the power plug
and outlet(s).
- The sectional markings on the microwave oven’s
power cord should match those on the extension
cord.
- The extension cord must contain a ground wire.
- The extension cord should not hang off the edge of
the table where children can pull on it or be placed n
such a way that it prevents power circulation.
RADIO STATIC
• The microwave oven can cause static in radio receiv-
ers, televisions or other devices of this type.
• This static interference can be reduced or complete-
ly removed by taking the following measures:
- Change the position of the radio or television anten-
na.
- Move the microwave oven in relation to the receiver.
- Move the microwave oven further away from the re-
ceiver.
- Connect the microwave oven to a different electrical
outlet so that it is supplied by a different branch of
the electrical network than the receiver.
RULES FOR PREPARING FOOD IN MICROWAVE
OVENS
Place larger pieces of food near the edges of the dish.
• Monitor the cooking time. Program the minimum
cook time and then, if necessary, add more time. Do
not over cook the food; this can lead to burning.
• Cover food while cooking. A lid prevents spraying of
juices or oil and helps the food cook more evenly.
• In order to speed up the cooking process, turn over
light foods, like chickens or hamburgers. If pieces of
meat are large, they should be turned at least twice
during the cooking process.
• Mix the food you are cooking during the cooking pro-
cess, from the top to the bottom and from the center
to the edges of the dish.
DIRECTIONS FOR CHOOSING DISHES
• The ideal material for dishes used in the microwave
should be “transparent” to microwaves. This allows
the microwave energy to travel through the dish and
heat the food only.
• Microwaves cannot travel through metal, so metal
dishes or food with metal decorations cannot be
used.
• Do not place items made from recycled paper into
the microwave because they can contain metal,
which can cause fires.
• Round or oval dishes are more highly recommended
for use in microwave ovens than square or rectangu-
lar.
Checking dishes before using them in the micro-
wave
• Place the dish in the cooking chamber of the oven (a
plate, for example) and place a glass cup of water in
the center of the dish.
• Set the microwave to maximum power and heat for
no more than one minute.
• Carefully touch the dish you are testing: if it heated
up and the water in the cup is cold, than the dish
should not be used in the microwave.
• Avoid testing dishes for more than one minute.

ASSEMBLY OF THE MICROWAVE OVEN
Remove the packing materials and accessories from the
cooking chamber of the oven. Inspect the microwave
oven for signs of damage, paying special attention to
the oven door. If damage or malfunction is detected, do
not install and do not turn on the microwave oven.
Protective Covering
Housing: Remove protective film, if any, from the mi-
crowave housing.
Do not remove the light-gray micaceous film from
inside the cooking chamber; it serves to protect
the magnetron.
