- The appliance operates at very high
temperatures, Caution: there is dan-
ger of scalding from escaping water or
steam. Do not touch any part of the
kettle except the handle (when the
appliance is in use and ensure that the
lid is properly screwed. This appliance
is designed for heating water only.
Never put any other liquid into the
kettle.
- The appliance must be positioned so
that the plug is accessible
- If the kettle is overfilled, boiling wa-
ter may be ejected.
WARNING Position the lid so that
steam is directed away from the han-
dle.
WARNING Do not remove the lid
while the water is boiling.
- The kettle is only to be used with the
stand provided.
CAUTION Ensure that the kettle is
switched off before removing it from
its stand.
- This appliance is intended to be used
in household and similar applications
such as:
staff kitchen areas in shops,
offices and other working en-
vironments;
by clients in hotels, motels
and other residential type
environments;
farm houses;
bed and breakfast type envi-
ronments.
OPERATION GUIDELINES
Before using for the first time
- Prior to initial use, clean it by going
through several boiling cycles, using
clean water with each cycle and filling
the kettle (6) to its upper marking.
Water will reach boiling point after
approximately 5 minutes, when the
unit switches off automatically.
Operation
- Place the cordless base (7) on a firm
and level surface.
- Pour the desired amount of clean
water into the kettle (6). Do not touch
any part of the kettle except the han-
dle. When the appliance is in use, and
ensure that the cover (1) is properly
closed, the amount of water can be
measured by the level mark on the
outside of the kettle. Always pay at-
tention to the minimum and maximum
levels and ensure that the cover (1) is
properly and firmly closed.
- Position the kettle in such a way on
the sub base (9) that the underside of
the kettle fits precisely into the con-
tact on the base
- Insert the plug into a wall socket.
- Put the on/off switch (3) to its ‘1’
position to start the heating process,
the indicator lamp will light up.
- As soon as the water reaches boiling
point, the on/off switch (3) return
automatically to the “0”position, the
indicator lamp will go out. The water
kettle can also be switched off manu-
ally by putting the on/off switch to the
“0”position.
- The hot water may now be poured
safely through the spout into another
container.
SAFETY CUTOUT
- This kettle is equipped with a safety
cutout to protect the appliance from
damage in case of inappropriate use,
should the appliance be accidentally
operated without water or if all the
water has evaporated, the safety cut
out will automatically switch off the
heating element.
- In such a case remove the plug from
the wall socket immediately, and refill
the kettle only after an adequate cool-
ing down period, about 1520 sec-
onds.
DECALCIFYING
- Should the appliance switch off be-
fore reaching boiling point this is a
sign that decalcifying is necessary.
- Any regular descaling agent may be
used, provided the relevant instruc-
tions are observed. Do not fill the ket-
tle to the upper mark to avoid spillage
if the descaling agent causes the wa-
ter to foam.
- To clean the kettle thoroughly of any
decalcification residues let it go
through several boiling cycles using
clean water with each cycle. Rinse the
kettle with clean water afterwards.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Before cleaning the appliance, en-
sure it is disconnected from the power
supply and has cooled down complete-
ly.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh clean-
ing solutions.
- Do not immerse the base or the ket-
tle in any liquid. To clean the exterior,
a slightly damp, lintfree cloth may be
used.
- It is advisable to remove lime depos-
its from the kettle at regular intervals.
