NOTE:
When you connect the ribbon cable to the Core main board be sure that you connect it to the proper connector. The
connectors on the Core main board are identifi ed by the slot letters A through H.
9. When replacing the Blank Card with an I/O Card, the new ribbon cable must also be
attached to the Core main board. To do this, locate the main board audio connectors. Then
locate the appropriate card position indicator (
Figure 15) on the main board for the card
being replaced (A through H). Attach the ribbon cable in the same manner as the I/O Card,
ensuring that the cable connector tab is aligned with the main board connector key and that
the cable is properly seated with the ejector tabs in their locked position.
10. Replace the Core lid and secure the lid with the screws removed earlier.
Qualifi ed Ethernet Switches
Q-Sys uses layer 3 (DSCP) QoS. This type of QoS is deployed differently on different networks
and therefore requires user intervention to set up properly. Because of this complexity, unmanaged switches are not acceptable for Q-Sys. For
more details about network and switch setup, refer to the Help File in Q-Sys Designer. For more details about the following switches, refer to the
manufacturers’ website. The following switches have been tested and qualify for use with a Q-Sys™ network.
