IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The safety of electrical appliances from FIRST
Austria complies with the recognized technical
directives and legal regulations for safety.
Nevertheless, you and the other users of the
appliance should observe the following:
• Please read these instructions carefully
before using this appliance for the rst time
and keep them for further reference.
• This product has not been designed for
any other uses than those specied in this
manual.
• Before connecting the appliance to the
power source, check if the voltage indicated
on the appliance corresponds with the
mains voltage in your home. If this is not the
case, contact your dealer and do not use the
appliance.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a
table or counter. Do not let the cord touch
hot surfaces.
• Do not operate or place any part of this
appliance on or near any hot surface (such as
gas or electric burner or a heated oven).
• Ensure that the appliance is used on a rm
and at surface out of reach of children, this
will prevent from overturning and avoid
damage or injury.
• Only use this product with the supplied
base unit. Do not use the base unit for other
puposes.
• To protect from electrical hazard, do not
immerse this appliance or cordset in any
liquids.
• If the appliance or the power cord shows
any signs of damage, do not operate it! Take
the product to an authorized and qualied
service center for inspection or repair.
• Ensure the appliance is turned o and
disconnected from power source before
lling it with water.
• Do not operate the product without water in
it.
• Do not attempt to plug in or unplug the
appliance with wet hands or feet in the
water.
• This device is intended for home use only, do
not use it commercially.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while
it is operating.
• The appliance becomes hot during
operation. Therefore, be careful not to touch
any of the hot parts.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving
an appliance containing hot liquids.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the
power source before draining the water.
• Always disconnect the appliance from power
after use, before cleaning and in the event of
a malfunction.
• As long as the appliance is hot, it should be
supervised, even if it is not connected to the
mains. Allow the appliance to cool down fully
before cleaning and storing it.
• Do not pull directly on the power cord, rather
pull on the plug to disconnect the appliance
from the power source.
• The appliance is not a toy. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
• Children do not realize the dangers which
can arise when working with electrical
appliances. Therefore, they should only be
allowed to use electrical appliances under
supervision. Special care should be taken in
the presence of children.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
• We are excluded of liability for all damages
that may arise if the appliance is used for
purposes other than originally intended or if
it is used inappropriately.
• Repairs and other work undertaken on
the unit must only be done by authorised
specialist personnel!

BEFORE FIRST USE
Before rst use, wash all parts with hot water.
Then boil a few batches of coee and pour it
away.
HOW TO PREPARE THE COFFEE (Fig. B)
1. Place the appliance on a at surface.
2. Check that the moka maker is cold, then
unscrew the pitcher (B) from the boiler (C) by
turning it counter-clockwise (Fig. 1).
3. Remove the funnel lter (K) from the boiler.
4. a) For a full pot of coee:
Fill the boiler (C) with fresh water right below
the safety valve (J) without exceeding it
(Fig.2).
b) For the half amount of coee:
Fill the boiler (C) halfway with fresh water
(Fig. 2).
Caution: Do not use the moka maker without
water in the boiler.
5. a) For a full pot of coee:
Insert the funnel lter (K) into the boiler (C)
(Fig. 3).
b) For the half amount of coee:
Insert the funnel lter (K) into the boiler (C)
(Fig. 3), then put the adapter disc (L) into the
funnel lter (K) (Fig. 4).
6. Fill the funnel lter (K) with ground coee,
without pressing it (Fig. 5). Fill it gradually to
avoid spilling the ground coee.
7. Distribute the ground coee evenly and
remove excess coee from the edge of the
lter.
Note: Use medium-ground coee, for moka
coee makers.
8. Screw the pitcher (B) rmly back onto the
boiler (C).
9. Close the lid and place the moka maker on
the power base (Fig. 6).
10. Press the on/o switch (H) (Fig. 7).
11. The coee extraction will start after a few
minutes.
12. At the end of brewing, stir the coee slightly
before serving it.
CLEANING & MAINTAINENCE
Always unplug the appliance from power and
allow it to cool down before cleaning.
Never immerse the power base and power cord
in water. Do not let the electrical parts come into
contact with moisture.
• Clean the inside of the tube periodically.
• Regularly check the funnel and the gasket.
Replace if there are signs of wear or
deterioration.
• Check that the holes in the disk lter are not
blocked. If necessary, clean it by using a pin
(Fig. 8).
• Do not wash the coee maker in the
dishwasher!
• Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents.
Clean it with a damp sponge.
Never rinse the boiler under the tap water
and never immerse it in water.
STORAGE
It is recommended to store in a covered and
dry place at an ambient temperature not higher
than +40°C with relative humidity above 70 %
and the absence in the environment of dust,
acid and other vapours.
TRANSPORTATION
There are no special transport regulations for
the product. When transporting the unit, use the
original packaging. During transportation, avoid
drops, impacts and other mechanical inuences
on the device, as well as direct exposure to
atmospheric precipitation and aggressive
environments.
