Battery choice and installation
Headlamp is powered by one 18650
Li-ion battery, permitted length is 65-71
mm. It is recommended to use
high-quality protected batteries
supplied by reliable providers, of 2600
mAh capacity and more.
To install the battery, unscrew the tail-
cap, insert the battery into the head-
lamp with the positive contact faced
forward, and twist the tailcap tightly.
To avoid accidental switch-on, untwist
the tailcap at 1/4 turn. As Gekko
headlamp is high-powered, it is highly
recommended to lockout it in case of
lengthy transportation.
The headlamp emits a large amount
of heat when operating at high
power. In order to avoid overheating,
the headlamp is equipped with a ther-
mal control system, which gradually
reduces the brightness to a safe level,
if needed.
Default operation mode
To turn the Gekko ON or OFF, press the
button. To change the modes, hold
the button. The modes will be chang-
ing in “a sine wave” manner – from
Low mode to Max and back from Max
to Low. The selected brightness mode
will be memorized.
Instant access to Max mode
For instant access to Maximum mode,
double-click the button. Next dou-
ble-click will return the headlamp
back to the mode used before.
Activated this way, Max-mode will not
be stored in the memory.
Hidden moonlight mode
To turn Gekko ON in Moonlight mode,
hold the button for one second. Fur-
ther holding the button will activate
basic rotation of modes from Low to
Max.
Moonlight mode will not be stored in
the memory.

Customizable operations
Gekko 1.0 is completely ready for use
“out of the box”, but you can also cus-
tomize the functions you want. For
example, it is possible to change the
number of brightness modes, to use
smooth brightness control, to turn
memory off, to add signal and tactical
modes, to activate constant button
illumination, and to set the functions
you need to the convenient combina-
tions of “clicks” and “holds”.

If you accidentally change the set-
tings of the Gekko and you want to
cancel the changes, press the button
12 times – and the headlamp will be
reset to the default settings.

Alternatively, to check the battery
level, press the button 4 times – the
headlamp will blink from 1 to 5 times
depending on the battery level.
Battery level indication
The battery level is indicated
by the color of LEDs on the button:
> 70% green
< 30% red
30 - 70% red and green
