6. TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE
The temperature control device allows you to save energy
by supplying voltage to the heating sections only when it is
necessary to maintain thermal comfort in the room. Using
programmable temperature control devices, you can set the
program to maintain the temperature for a day or a whole
week.
The temperature control device is not included in the
"Heatline-SLIM" set and must be purchased separately.
You can also purchase temperature control devices from
the range produced by PC HEAT LINE LLC.
7. PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION
Before you start mounting the "Heatline-SLIM" cable
system, we advise you to make sure that you have chosen
the right set that is suitable for heating your room. For
comfortable heating, the recommended specific power
should be about 150 W/m
2
.
We recommend laying the heating sections in such a
way that no furniture without legs stands over them.
Place the heating sections in the area you walk on.
You cannot use the same heating section to heat
different types of rooms (for example, a bathroom and
a corridor). In such rooms, you must install separate
heating sections with their own temperature control
devices or use a dual-zone temperature controller.
8. WIRING AND LOCATION OF THE
TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE
Standard electrical wiring according to the REI (Requirements
for Electrical Installations, edition 2001) withstands the
following currents and the corresponding load capacities:
For your greater safety, we recommend the use of a RCD
(residual current device).

It is a small device mounted in the electrical panel,
which monitors the safety of electrical insulation of
the equipment. RCD must be used when underfloor
heating is installed in wet areas (bathrooms, swimming
pools, saunas, etc.)
9. INSTALLATION OF UNDERFLOOR
HEATING "HEATLINE-SLIM"
The drying time of the mortar is set in accordance with the
instructions for the mixture used.
The floor covering is laid only after the protective mixture
has completely dried.
The heating section must be laid so that it is at least 100
mm away from other heating devices, such as risers and
pipes.
The heating section must not be exposed to oil, grease or
similar substances during installation.
Minimum installation temperature + 10°C.
9.1. INSTALLATION OF THE "HEATLINE-
SLIM" HEATING SECTION
1. Prepare a place in the wall to install the temperature
control device.
Temperature control devices controlling the heating
of rooms with high humidity (bathrooms, saunas,
swimming pools) should be installed outside such
rooms.
2. Make grooves in the wall for the electrical wiring, the
mounting ends of the heating section and the temperature
sensor.
3. Prepare the floor surface: the base must be even and
dense, the surface should be thoroughly cleaned of dust
and debris (preferably primed).
4. Unfold and secure the mounting tape to the surface.
5. Lay out the heating section on the floor, fixing it with
mounting tape.
6. Place the temperature sensor in the corrugated tube, the
sensor should be placed inside the tube near its opposite
end. Close the end of the sensor tube tightly to prevent the
solution from getting inside. Lay and secure the sensor tube
to the surface to be heated between the coils of the heating
tape and lead it out to the thermostat.
7. Lead out the mounting end of the double-core heating
section (both ends of the single-core heating section) to
the location of the temperature control device through
the grooves prepared in the wall. Visually check for
breaks. To check for damage to the heating section and
the temperature sensor during installation, measure the
resistance of the heating mat and the temperature sensor
with a tester. Their values must correspond to the data
sheet.
8. Fill the heating section with a 5-8 mm thick layer of
mortar and let it dry in accordance with the instructions for
the mixture used.
9. After the mortar has dried, use a tester (megohmmeter) to
check that the heating section and the temperature sensor
are not damaged.
10. In accordance with the instructions, the heating
section and the temperature sensor are connected to the
temperature controller; make grounding, and connect the
power supply to the temperature controller.
(See paragraph 9.2 or 9.3).
11. After the mortar has completely dried, the "Heatline-
SLIM" underfloor heating is ready for use. Turn it on by
following the data sheet for the temperature control device.
9.2. "HEATLINE-SLIM" SINGLE-CORE
UNDERFLOOR CONNECTION PROCEDURE

For the correct connection of the single-core floor on
the "Heatline-SLIM" coil to the temperature control
device, it is necessary to bring BOTH mounting ends
into the housing of the temperature control device.
Before connecting the heating section to the temperature
control device, make sure that the mounting ends are
labeled (Fig. A6)! The wires of the mounting ends marked
"N" and "L" are connected to the heating core of the cable
and are connected to the terminals of the temperature
controller N1-zero; L1-phase.
The wires of the mounting ends marked "PE" are
connected to the shielding braid of the heating cable. Both
wires are connected to the existing grounding circuit or to
the terminal of the temperature controller "N1".
9.3 "HEATLINE-SLIM" DOUBLE-CORE
UNDERFLOOR CONNECTION PROCEDURE

For the correct connection of the double-core floor on
the "Heatline-SLIM" coil to the temperature control
device, it is necessary to follow the instructions.
Before connecting the heating section to the temperature
control device, make sure that the mounting ends are
labeled (Fig. A6)! The wires of the mounting end marked
"N" and "L" are connected to the heating core of the cable
and are connected to the terminals of the temperature
controller N1-zero; L1-phase.
The wire of the mounting end marked "PE" is connected
to the shielding braid of the heating cable and is connected
to the existing grounding circuit or to the terminal of the
temperature controller "N1".
10. HEATLINE-SLIM SYSTEM ACTIVATION
AND OPERATION
Turn on the "Heatline-SLIM" underfloor heating only after
the mortar has completely dried.
It is strictly forbidden to dry the screed with the
electricunderoorheating"Heatline"!
Turn on the temperature control device and set the desired
heating level on it.
When you activate the "Heatline-SLIM" system for the
first time, the feeling of "warm floor" may appear after a
considerable period of time. Please do not worry and allow
the system to fully warm up the floor surface.
11. SAFETY
Do not make any changes to the design of the section.
Do not replace the supply (mounting) wires by yourself,
breaking the connections in the coupling made by the
manufacturer.
Do not independently make any changes to the design of
the temperature control device.
Do not to connect heating sections that have been rolled up
in a bay to the mains, even for short periods.
Do not connect heating sections to the mains with a voltage
that does not correspond to the operating voltage stated in
the section's data sheet, on the label or packing.
Do not install or repair the temperature control device
without disconnecting the voltage.
The system must be connected by a qualified electrician.
Do not use the heating sections without a minimum layer of
the mixture completely covering the heating cable.
