6.1 CHAIN BRAKE FOR KICKBACK PROTECTION

The unit is fitted with a chain brake which stops the chain in the event of a kickback. The chain

brake reduces the risk of accidents, but only the operator can prevent them through his actions.

The chain brake is activated manually by pushing with the left hand on the handguard lever

until it clicks or automatically with the inertial mechanism. Push the handguard to manually

engage the chain brake even with the engine stopped.

6.2 THROTTLE LOCK

The throttle lock prevents accidental activation of the throttle itself. If you put your hand around

the handle and press the throttle lock, the throttle can be pressed. By releasing the handle, the

throttle and throttle lock both return to their initial position. This function locks the throttle at

idle.

6.3 CHAIN STOP AND CHAIN TENSIONING DEVICE

The chain stop holds the chain in the event of a break or slipping out of the bar. The chain

tensioning device prevents a chain that is too taut (risk of breakage) or too slack (risk of

slipping). The right chain tension and the correct maintenance of the bar and chain reduce the

risk of accidents.

6.4 VIBRATION DAMPING SYSTEM

The vibration damping system reduces the vibrations transmitted to the handles. The dampers

operate as a separation between the machine engine and the handles.

6.5 GROUND SWITCH

The ground switch is used to stop the engine in both normal and emergency conditions. The

engine can be restarted only after bringing the switch back to the start position.

6.6 MUFFLER

The muffler ensures the minimum noise level and moves the exhaust fumes away from the

operator. In areas with a hot and dry climate there can be a great risk of fire. Follow local

regulations and maintenance instructions.

WARNING

The muffler heats up significantly during and after use, and when the engine is

idling. There is a risk of fire, especially when operating the machine near flammable

materials.

WARNING

Do not use a machine without a muffler or with a defective muffler. A defective

muffler can increase the noise level and the risk of fire.
