occupant r estr aint systems this vehicle provides, Section 13of

Secti on 13 des cribes the func tion and operation concerni ng seats ,
seat belts, SRS air bags and chi ld res trai nt systems of this vehicle
and s ome pot ential hazar ds you should be aware of. These s ys-
tems work together along wit h the over all s truc ture of this vehic le
in or der t o prov ide oc cupant res trai nt in the event of a cr ash. The
effect of each system is enhanced when it i s us ed properly and
together with other systems. No single occupant res traint system
can, by itsel f, provide you or your family wit h the equal lev el of
restraint which these systems can provide when used together.
That is why it is i mportant for you and y our f amily to under stand
the pur pose and pr oper use of each of thes e systems and how
they rel ate to each other.
The purpos e of all occ upant res trai nt systems is to help reduc e
the poss ibility of death or ser ious injury in the event of a colli-
sion. None of these systems, either individually or toget her, can
ensure that there is no injury in the event of collision. However,
the m ore y ou know about thes e systems and how to use them
properl y, the great er your chanc es bec ome of s urviv ing an ac ci-
dent without death or s erious inj ury.
