Chapter 1 Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Moxa’s DA-710 series of x86 ready-to-run embedded computers.
This manual introduces the software configuration and management of DA-710 computers running
the Windows Embedded Standard 2009 operating system. For hardware installation, connector
interfaces, setup procedures, and upgrading the BIOS, please refer to the DA-710 Series Hardware
User’s Manual.
Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2009 is a specialized operating system consisting of
componentized Windows XP Professional features that allows you to build a wide range of
innovative, small footprint devices. Windows developers will find Moxa’s DA-710 computer plus
Windows Embedded Standard 2009 operating system to be the right solution for a wide range of
applications.
