SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Protection against burns:
When welding always wear clothes with long sleeves and welding gloves. Ensure your shoe laces are tied up.
Keep your shirt tight, zip your pockets, wear trousers without turn-ups to avoid catching sparks or splinters of
hot material. Use welding helmet with visor protective glass properly darkened to protect face against eects
of electric arc. NEVER use cracked or broken helmet, because arc radiation may get through the damaged spot
and cause skin burns on the face. Replace cracked helmet visor IMMEDIATELY. When welding, do not wear
clothes dirty with oil or grease, it could catch re from sparks. Never touch hot metal objects with bare hands,
such as tip of the electrode or hot metal parts just after the welding is nished.
Protection against harmful vapours:
Harmful gases and vapours emerging while welding, and heat produced by electric arc may cause serious
hazards to health. Always work in an open room to protect your health. Working in a closed room is allowable,
provided that there are ecient ventilation and air extraction for removal of harmful gases and vapours
released during welding.
Protection against re and explosion:
In case electric arc, ames, projected sparks or hot drops of material may contact ammable substance, there is
a risk of re or explosion. Projected sparks or splatters of melted material may get through gaps or cracks, along
pipes, through windows and doors and slits in walls or oor.
To prevent re or explosion always keep the welder clean and ready for use. NEVER start welding in proximity
of explosion hazardous materials. When the welding is nished always check there are no glowing sparks or
pieces of hot material remaining in the workplace.
Explosion hazardous environment:
Never attempt welding, when air may contain particles of ammable material, ammable gas or vapours, such
as petrol or solvents.
Electric shock protection:
Lethal electric shock is possible
when touching electric wires without insulation or metal parts in the welding circuit. NEVER touch damp
surfaces when welding. Keep your body and clothes dry when welding. Never start welding in damp
environment without re protection.
When the welder is switched on, never touch electrode or any conducting metal part in contact with welding
circuit.
Welding guns:
Use only insulated welding guns for electrodes. When the welding is nished, remove electrode from the
welding gun. Do not use guns with protruding mount screws.
Terminals:
To connect welding cables use only insulated terminals.
Cables:
Frequently check cables against abrasions, cuts and other damages. REPLACE IMMEDIATELY all cables with
damaged or worn out insulation to avoid risk of electric shock, whose consequences might turn tragic.
Protections:
Never disconnect or dismantle protections against leakage current or overheating. Prior starting to install,
check or repair the welder, disconnect the device from power supply network, so accidental switching on is
impossible. Always disconnect the welder from power supply before leaving it unattended.
Safety for persons with pacemakers:
Electromagnetic eld produced with welding current may be dangerous for persons with pacemakers.
Pacemaker users shall consult physician to check if they can stay close to arc or spot welding machines.
