In particular, failure to comply with these safety pre-
cautions could give rise, for example, to the following
risks:
– Failure of important pump or machinery functions,
– Injury resulting from electrical or mechanical factors.
2.4 Safety precautions for the operator
Current regulations on the prevention of accidents
must be observed.
Injury resulting from electrical charges must be
avoided. The VDE (German association of Electrical
Engineers) and national energy supply company regu-
lations must be observed.
2.5 Safety information for inspection
and assembly
The operator must ensure that all inspection and
installation work is carried out by authorised and
qualified specialists who have carefully studied these
instructions.
Work on the pump/machinery should only be carried
out when the machine has been brought to a stand-
still.
2.6 Authorised modification and manufacture
of spare parts
Changes to the pump/machinery may only be made
in agreement with the manufacturer. The use of origi-
nal spare parts and accessories authorised by the
manufacturer will ensure safety. The use of any other
parts may invalidate claims invoking the liability of the
manufacturer for any consequences.
2.7 Improper use
The operating safety of the pump or installation
supplied can only be guaranteed if it is used in accord-
ance with paragraph 1 of the operating instructions.
The limits given in the catalogue or data sheet must
under no circumstances be exceeded.
3. Transport and storage
The pump must be protected against
moisture and physical damage.
It should not be exposed to temper-
atures outside the range –10 °C to
+50°C.

4. Description of product and
accessories
4.1 Pump description (Fig. 1)
The pump is fitted with a wet runner motor, in which
all rotating parts are surrounded by the flow medium.
Depending on the type of unit, the flow medium may
also act as a lubricant for the rotary shaft with friction
bearing. The pump can be installed in the heating
system as a single or double pump.
An electronic module is attached to the motor hous-
ing (Fig. 2) This module regulates the differential pres-
sure of the pump to a nominal value within a permis-
sible range of values. Depending on the control
system involved, the differential pressure is subject to
different criteria. Regardless of the control system
involved, the pump continually adapts itself to the
varying power requirements of the units, especially
when being used in conjunction with temperature
valves or mixers.
The most significant advantages of electronic regula-
tion are as follows:
– it does not require overflow valves,
– it saves energy,
– it reduces noise caused by the flow.
– The control systems which can be selected are:
– ∆p-c: The electronics keeps the differential pres-
sure produced by the pump constant at the diffe-
rential pressure set value H

– ∆p-v: The electronics increases the pump’s
differential pressure set value in a straight line

. The differential pressure
set value H increases or decreases in accordance
with the transporting capacity (Fig. 4).
– ∆p-T: The electronics alters the pump’s differen-
tial pressure set value in accordance with the
measured temperature of the medium. This con-
trol system can only be programmed via the Tele-
Monitor (Fig. 5). Only two settings are possible:
– Positive control: The differential pressure is
