4.4 Important points on the operation of the
pump, PLR and Tele-Monitor
Indicating errors (menu 10) and the acknowledge-
ment of errors has top priority. What this means is that
errors take precedence on the pump’s display and
that they must be acknowledged and removed.
Should setting alterations be made to the Riotec
module or from the Tele-Monitor and not be confirmed
by pressing the button, the setting returns to the pre-
vious setting 30 s after the last entry has been made.
– Pump
↔
PLR: Upon receiving a command from
the PLR, the pump automatically switches over to
PLR mode. . appears on the display. The
pump is now blocked and cannot be operated.
Exception , , Optimisation, acknow-
ledgement of errors. In the case of pumps with
P
1
< 500 W (see rating plate) only error acknowled-
gement is possible.
– Pump
↔
Tele-Monitor without Key function: The
last command, whether from the Tele-Monitor or
the Riotec module is carried out by the pump.
– Pump
↔
Tele-Monitor with Key function: On
receiving the command “Key function on”, the
current Riotec module settings remain as they are.
appears in the display. The pump can no longer
be operated except to acknowledge errors.
– Pump
↔
PLR
↔
Tele-Monitor: With this configu-
ration the pump gives the settings on the PLR prior-
ity. The PLR settings can be interrupted by the Tele-
Monitor. Settings can now be made via the Tele-
Monitor or to the Riotec module. The connection to
the MPC is re-established 5 min after the last set-
ting made via the Tele-Monitor. disappears
from the display for the length of the interruption.

5. Installation
5.1 Assembly
– The pump must be installed in a dry, well-aired,
frost-free room.
– Prior to installation of the single pump the two shells
are to be removed from the thermal lagging.
– Before installing the pump, make sure that all weld-
ing and soldering on the pipe system has been
completed and that the pipe system has been
flushed out if necessary. Dirt can have an adverse
effect on the functioning of the pump.
– The pump must be installed in an easily accessible
place to allow for maintenance even after assembly.
– It is recommended that a shut-off device be installed
in front of and behind the pump. This avoids the
necessity to empty and fill the unit every time a
pump has to be replaced. Assembly is to be carried
out in such a way that no drops fall onto the pump
motor or the terminal box.
– When installing flow pipes in open units, the expan-
sion flow pipe must branch off before the pump.
– Assembly should be voltage-free. The pipes must
be attached in such a way that the pump does not
bear the weight of the pipes.
– The direction of flow must correspond to the arrow
on the pump housing.
– The air inlet to the heat sink must not be blocked in
any way.
– Only installation positions in accordance with Fig
7a/7b are permissible. The pump shaft must lie
horizontally. For pumps with P
1
≥ 500 W the ribs of
the heat sink must stand vertically to the electronic
module. It is possible that the motor housing has to
be turned after loosening the Allen screws.
In doing so, care must be taken not
to damage the O-ring between the
split pot and the pump housing. The
O-ring must lie, unturned, in the
edge of the split pot which faces the
impeller.
– Place both thermal lagging shells on the single
pump and press them together so that the pilot pins
lock into their respective, opposite holes.
– For units which are to be insulated,
only the pump housing may be in-
sulated. The condensation water
holes on the motor flange must
remain open.
