1 Introduction
1.1 About This Manual
EUW(*)40-200KX
chiller types
The Daikin EUW(*)40-200KX water-cooled water chillers are designed for indoor installation. The units
are available in 9 standard sizes for cooling or heating applications.
The EUW(*)40-200KX units can be combined with Daikin fan coil units or air handling units for air
conditioning purposes. They can also be used to supply water for process cooling or heating.
Before starting up the unit for the first time, make sure that it has been properly installed. Consult the
check lists in ‘Pre-Test Run Checks’ on page 4-3.
You will find the following tools at the back of the manual:
a list of parts in function of the integrated photos. Refer to Appendix A Photo parts.
a list of drawings. Refer to Appendix B Drawings.
an index. Refer to Index.
Usage of the
manual
The present service manual gives you all the information you need to do the necessary repair and
maintenance tasks for these waterchillers operating with HFC 134a (EUW(*)40-200KX). It is intended
for and should only be used by qualified engineers.
It is not intended to replace technical know-how acquired through training and experience.
The basic rules of good workmanship still apply, but should be more strictly applied since R-134a is
used.
Approvals The asterix (*) in EUW(*)40-200KX refers to T, S, K, M, B, D or Q, which are abbreviations for:
T= ‘TuV’ approval (Germany), standard unit
S= ‘AB State’ approval (Sweden)
K= ‘TTK’ approval (Finland)
M= ‘Service des Mines’ approval (France)
B= ‘ISPESL’ approval (Italy)
D= ‘RLK’ approval (the Netherlands)
Q= ‘UDT’ approval (Poland)
