3.
Earth wiring
Make sure that the earth wires have been connected properly
and that the earth terminals are tightened.
4.
Internal wiring
Visually check the switch box on loose connections or damaged
electrical components.
5.
Fixation
Check that the unit and the air ducts are properly fixed, to avoid
abnormal noises and vibrations when starting up the unit.
6.
Damaged equipment
Check the inside of the unit on damaged components or
squeezed pipes.
7.
Shipping stay
Make sure the shipping stay (on ER3DA unit only) has been
removed from the compressor support.
8.
Oil leak
Check the compressor on oil leakage. If there is an oil leak, call
your local Daikin dealer.
9.
Stop valves
Open the liquid line and the gas line stop valves completely.
10.
Condenser air inlet/outlet
Check that the air inlet and outlet of the condenser are not
obstructed by paper sheets, cardboard, or any other material.
11.
Remote control
Make sure that the remote control is switched off to prevent the
compressor from starting when the circuit breaker on the local
supply panel is switched on.
12.
Head pressure control
When a head pressure control kit (optional) is installed, check
that the internal wiring has correctly been carried out according
to the wiring diagram. Make sure that no safety device has been
bypassed.
13.
Power supply voltage
Check the power supply voltage on the local supply panel. The
voltage should correspond to the voltage on the identification
label of the unit.
Power supply connection and crankcase heating
To switch on the crankcase heater proceed as follows:
1
Switch on the circuit breaker on the local supply panel. Make
sure that the remote control of the air conditioner is “OFF”.
2
The crankcase heater is switched on automatically.
3
Check the supply voltage on the supply terminals L1, L2, L3, N
by means of a voltmeter. The voltage should correspond to the
voltage indicated on the identification label of the unit. If the
voltmeter reads values which are not within the ranges specified
in the technical data, check the field wiring and replace the
supply cables if necessary.
4
Check the red LED on the reverse phase protector (not
applicable for ER3DAV1 units). If it lights up, the phase order is
correct. If not, switch off the circuit breaker and call a licensed
electrician to connect the wires of the power supply cable in the
correct phase order.
After six hours, the condensing unit is ready for operation. Switch on
the power supply of the air conditioner fan motor. Before switching
on, refer to the operation manual of the corresponding air conditioner
for more details. Make sure that the remote control of the air
conditioner is still “OFF”.
O
PERATION
Test run and checks
Starting up the condensing unit
Switch on the remote control and carry out a temperature setting.
Refer to the operation manual of the corresponding air conditioner.
As soon as the thermostat of the remote control is switched on, the
compressor and condenser fan motors will start after approximately 3
minutes.
If the motors do not start this may be due to the following:
■
Air conditioner power supply is not switched on.
■
The lock out timer K2T is not reset (automatic reset). The timer
is factory-set to approx. 3 minutes; it must never be changed,
neither during the test run nor during normal operation. The
timer will prevent the compressor from being restarted
immediately after having been switched off.
■
The temperature setting on the remote control is too high.
■
One of the safety devices has not been reset properly.
Refer to the chapter "Trouble shooting" on page 5 if the condensing
unit does still not start after a few minutes.
Checks during test run
During the test run, the following checks must be carried out:
1.
Condenser fan rotation
When the condenser fan(s) turn(s) in the right direction the air
will enter the condensing unit at the back and leave the unit at
the front. If this is not the case, contact your local Daikin Dealer.
2.
Abnormal noise and vibrations
Make sure that the unit does not produce abnormal noises or
vibrations: check the fixation, shipping stay, stop valves and
piping. If the compressor makes abnormal noises, this may also
be caused by an overcharge of refrigerant.
3.
Running voltage
After one hour of operation, check the voltage at the compressor
and condenser fan supply terminals.
The voltage measured at the supply terminals L1, L2, L3, N
must be within the ranges specified in the table below:
4.
Working pressure
It is important to check the high and low pressure of the
refrigerant circuit in order to ensure the proper operation of the
unit and to guarantee that the rated output will be obtained. This
measurement can be carried out by means of the manifold and
the high-pressure and low-pressure service ports installed on
the unit. The measurement must be carried out
after at least 1
hour of service.
In order to avoid compressor damage, it is necessary to
switch on the crankcase heater for
at least six hours
before
starting the compressor after a long period of standstill.
