Al-Ko Rain 2500 [7/58] Preparation prior to operation

Al-Ko Rain 2500 [7/58] Preparation prior to operation
FUNCTIONAL COMPONENTS
Ensure that the electrical connections for
plugs and sockets are made in areas safe from
flooding. A rope can be attached to the carrying
handle for lowering the pump into deep
containers or raising and fastening it.
Pump (Fig. A, Fig. C)
1 Shut-off valve
2 Washer
3 Cable attachment clip
PUTTING THE PUMP INTO OPERATION
4 Flexible hose
5a Telescopic pipe, straight ( 20 mm)
1. Plug in the mains connector of the pump into
a power point. The pump will start to run
immediately.
5b Telescopic pipe, straight ( 16 mm)
6 Threaded pipe connection (G 3/4")
7 Mains power cable
8 Carrying handle
Do not allow the pump to run longer than
15 minutes against a closed pressure side.
9 Pump
10 Filter
Switching off the pump
Thermal protection
The pump comes with a built-in thermal overload
switch that will switch the pump off if it overheats.
After cooling down (ca. 15-20 min.), the pump
will start again automatically. Do not allow the
pump to dry-run: observe the min. water level.
1. Disconnect the pump's mains plug after use.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Disconnect the plug from the mains power
supply before performing any work on the pump
and ensure that it cannot be switched on
inadvertently.
PREPARATION PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Screw standpipe (5a) with the gasket (2c) on
the connection thread (6).
Cleaning the pump
2. Screw standpipe (5b) with the gasket (2b) on
the standpipe (5a).
1. After delivering chlorinated water from
swimming pools or dirty rain water, the pump
must be flushed with clear water after the
filter (10) has been cleaned. See fig. C for
removal and replacement of filter.
3. Screw flexible hose (4) with the gasket (2b)
on the standpipe (5b).
4. Screw stop-valve (1) with the gasket (2a) on
the flexible hose (4).
Frost protection
5. Attach connection cable (7) with the cable
clip (3) according to picture B.
Protect the pump against frost. Store the pump
dry if endangered by frost.
6. Connect a hose with a standard quick-
release coupling to the shut-off valve (1).
7. Place the pump into the water.
FAULT POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
Air cannot escape because the
pressure line is closed or kinked.
Open the shut-off valve or check the
hose for a possible kink and
straighten it
Suction foot/filter is blocked. Clean the suction foot/filter.
Pump is running
but does not deliver.
Max. delivery height exceeded. Reduce the delivery height.
Thermal switch has switched the
pump off due to overheating.
Unplug the pump from the mains and
clean the suction foot/filter. Wait until
the pump switches on again
automatically. Observe the max.
water temperature.
Pump does not start
or stops suddenly
during operation.
No electrical power. Check fuses and electrical
connections.
Delivery output drops
suddenly.
Suction foot/filter is blocked. Clean the suction foot/filter.
