- Make sure the plug is disconnected from the socket.
- Set the iron voltage same as the mains voltage. [Fig. 6].
The wrong setting on the iron voids the warranty.
- Press the Push button(8) and lift the handle [Fig. 5].
- Turn the temperature dial to the mode "•" COTTON/LINEN or MAX
[Fig. 1]. - Open the water tank cap (don't use the excessive force to open
the cap, to avoid tearing) and slowly pour the water into the water tank
using the special measure cup in set up to the maximum level (about 40
ml) indicated by “MAX” on the tank [Fig. 2]. - Do not overfill the water
tank. Place the appliance vertically on its stand to check the water level.
If spare water found, pour it away till MAX level.
This iron is designed to use tap water. However, if your water is hard
enough, we recommend using a mixture of tap water 1/2 and distilled
water 1/2. Never use only distilled water. Do not add any other additives
(e.g. starch) to the water. Do not use undiluted demineralized water.
- Close the water tank cap.
- Place the iron in its stand (7). Connect the iron to the mains. The pilot
light will be on, which means the iron is heating up. Once the pilot light
is off, the iron is ready for use.
- Turn the Steam switch to "Steam" mode (to the left side).
Before ironing we recommend passing the iron over an ordinary
cloth.
- Use the iron in horizontal or vertical position.
- Once the ironing is finished turn the Steam switch to "NO steam" mode
(to the right side) and disconnect the plug of the iron from the socket.
- After each use empty the water tank by turning the iron upside down
and gently shaking it. [Fig. 3]. Never leave the water in the water tank!
- Leave the iron vertically on its stand to cool down completely.
- Roll up the power cord.
- Press the Push button (8) and turn the handle to the low position.
[Fig. 5].
- Always put the iron away in a vertical position.
STEAM SHOT FUNCTION
REMEMBER! STEAM IRONING MUST BE USED ONLY ON MODE
"•" COTTON/LINEN OR MAX!
This function is used to smooth out deep folds on clothes.
Press the STEAM SHOT button (3) from time to time. Follow
the intervals of few seconds between presses. [Fig. 4].
Do not press the button when the heating indicator (10) is
on, as steam can only be emitted at high temperatures. The
next press is possible only after the heating indicator is off.
Use the iron in a horizontal or vertical position.
- Once the ironing is finished disconnect the plug of the iron from the
socket.
DRY IRONING To iron without steam. Don't pour the water in the
water tank! Warning: for delicate fabrics, we recommend moistening
the fabric beforehand or putting a damp cloth between the iron and the
fabric.
CLEANING
Please note: before cleaning the iron in any way, make sure that the
appliance plug is not connected to the mains socket.
Any deposits, starch residue or size left on the soleplate can be removed
using a damp cloth or an unabrasive liquid detergent.
Avoid scratching the soleplate with steel wool or metallic objects.
The plastic parts can be cleaned with a damp cloth then wiped over
with a dry cloth.
ADVICE FOR GOOD IRONING We recommend using the lowest temper-
atures with fabrics that have unusual finishes (sequins, embroidery, etc.).
If the fabric is mixed (e.g. 40% cotton 60% synthetics), set the ther-
mostat to the temperature of the fiber requiring the lower temperature.
If you don’t know the composition of the fabric, determine the suitable
temperature by testing on a hidden corner of the garment. Start with a
low temperature and increase it gradually until it reaches the ideal tem-
perature. Never iron areas with traces of perspiration or other marks: the
heat of the plate fixes the stains on the fabric, making them irremovable.
To avoid marking silk, woolen or synthetic garments shiny, iron them
inside out. To avoid marking velvet garments shiny, iron in one direction
(following the fiber) and do not press down on the appliance. The heavier
the washing machine is loaded, the more garments come out creased.
This also happens when the spin drying revolutions are very high. Many
fabrics are easier to iron if they are not completely dry. For example, silk
should always be ironed damp. Stainless steel soleplate with many holes
is efficient for steaming of different garments. Tapered nose is efficient
for ironing of difficult of access places, corners, collars, cuffs. To iron
zippers, use an ironing cloth or make sure the zipper is closed and iron
over the flap. Never iron directly over an unprotected zipper.
