8.2 FILL UP

WARNING

Follow the safety instructions given for handling fuel. Always switch off the engine

before refueling. Never attempt to refuel a machine when the engine is running or

still hot. Move to a distance of at least 3 m from the refueling area before starting

the engine. DO NOT SMOKE!

1. Shake the can containing the fuel mixture before proceeding to fill up the tank.

2. Clean the surface around the filler cap to avoid contaminating the fuel.

3. Loosen the filler cap slowly.

4. Exercise care when pouring the fuel mixture into the tank. Avoid spillage.

5. Before replacing the fuel filler cap, clean and check the seal.

6. Refit the fuel filler cap immediately, screwing hand tight. Wipe away any spilled fuel.

WARNING

Check for fuel leaks, and if any are found, take corrective action before using the

machine. If necessary, contact an Authorized Service Center.

8.3 STARTING PROCEDURE

WARNING

Before starting the engine:

• make sure that the blade is free to move and is not in contact with any foreign

objects;

• check that the throttle lever operates freely;

• check for fuel leaks, and if any are found, take corrective action before using the

machine. If necessary, contact your dealer's service department.

1. Slowly push the primer 4 times (8, Fig. 2).

2. Put the starter lever in the CLOSE position (A, Fig. 15).

3. Pull the throttle lever (17, Fig. 2) and lock it in half-throttle by pressing the button (21,

Fig. 2), then release the lever (17, Fig. 2).

4. Rest the machine on the ground in a stable position.

5. Holding the machine with one hand (Fig. 16), pull the starter rope (no more than 3 times)

until you hear the first pop of the engine.
