8 USING THE MACHINE

8.1 PROHIBITED USES

• The machine must be used exclusively for cutting grass in private gardens or parks.

• The machine must not be used to cut other materials, particularly materials that are above

ground level, for which it is necessary to lift the machine.

• The machine must not be used to shred branches, or material tougher than grass.

• The machine must not be used to vacuum or collect tough materials, dust or waste of any

kind, sand or gravel from the ground.

• The machine must not be used to flatten out divots or bumpy ground; the blade must never

touch the ground itself.

• The machine must not be used to transport, push or pull other objects, carts or the like.

• Hitching tools or applications to the PTO of the machine that are not specified by the

manufacturer is prohibited.

8.2 OPERATING PRECAUTIONS

• Never use the machine on wet grass or on other slippery surfaces. Hold the handlebar firmly

with both hands. Walk behind the lawnmower, never run.

• On sloping terrain, cut across, never uphill or downhill sharply; do not cut on steep slopes.

• Mow only in daylight, or in the presence of good artificial lighting.

• Make sure that the rear deflector is always correctly positioned.

• If you hit an object, stop the engine and take a good look at any damage to the machine;

never restart the engine without first repairing any such damage.

• Do not tilt the machine when starting up: the exposed blade could cause damage.

• Never stand in front of the machine with the engine running.

• Stop the engine if you have to cross a path, walkway and the like and when transporting the

machine from one cutting area to another.

• Stop the engine and remove the safety key before removing the grass catcher or cleaning

the grass discharge chute.

• Always maintain a stable position on slopes.

• Be extremely careful when changing direction on slopes.

• Make sure that only original cutting devices are used.

• Use extreme caution when reversing direction or when pulling the machine toward you.

• Never touch the blades before having disconnected the safety key (9, Fig. 2) and before the

blades have stopped completely.

• Do not use the machine if the grass catcher is broken or clogged with grass.

• In the case of anomalous vibration: check for damage, renew any damaged parts and check

and tighten any loose parts.
