10.1 ENGINE COOLING
To avoid overheating and damaging the engine, the cooling air intake grilles must always be
kept clean and free from grass and debris.
10.2 MANAGING THE BATTERY
1. The battery must be stored in environments with temperatures between and +45°. If
storing the machine in places where these limits could be exceeded, remove the battery and
store it in a suitable place.
2. During use, the battery is protected against total discharge by a protective device that
switches off the machine and stops its operation.
3. The battery comes with a protective device that prevents recharging if the ambient
temperature is not between and +45°.
4. The battery can be recharged at any time, even partially, without the risk of damaging it.
10.3 CUTTING DEVICE MAINTENANCE
WARNING
Before any cleaning or repairs, stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug.
WARNING
Always handle the blades with extreme care. Always wear protective gloves.
WARNING
A bent or ruined blade must be replaced.
Always keep the blade cutting edge well sharpened.
A dull blade will not result in a good quality cut.
10.4 BLADE
WARNING
Always wear protective gloves to check the condition of the blades.
WARNING
Check periodically that the bolt (A, Fig. 16) is tightened to 25 Nm (2.5 kgm).
If the grass mowing becomes unsatisfactory as time goes by, the blade probably needs to be
sharpened. A badly sharpened blade pulls out the grass and causes the lawn to turn yellow. If
the blades are damaged or bent, replace them.
Sharpening the blades is a very delicate operation. If their perfect balance is not taken into
consideration, it can lead to abnormal vibrations that cause the blades to become loose,
with consequent danger for the operator.
