_____________________________________________________________________ USER MANUAL PAGE 7 _____________________________________________________________________ USER MANUAL PAGE 8 G 2 5 Hard Drive Storage KIT G 2 5 Hard Drive Storage KIT 7 Turn on the power and boot up the system the OS will recognize a new disk drive PARTITIONING FORMATTING INSTALL 2 5 ENCLOSURE ON A MAC 1 Boot up the system 2 Connect the 2 5 enclosure to the Mac by USB cable 3 No driver installation required in Mac OS 9 x version 4 The external drive is ready to work after the system recognize it Before you start to partition and format your hard drive please be aware that this procedure will destroy all existing data on the drive Therefore please make sure you have a backup before you partitioning and formatting the hard drive This step is usually required when you are using a new hard drive or you need to change the format and repartition your hard drive WINDOWS XP 2000 REMOVE THE EXTERNAL DRIVE IN WINDOWS XP 2000 A In Windows XP or Windows 2000 to remove the enclosure from the computer please right click the icon in the task bar Safely remove USB Mass storage Device A Turn on your computer and start Windows XP 2000 system Connect enclosure to the computer and turn on it Enter Control Panel in the system open Administrative Tools B Please select Safely remove USB Mass storage device wait for the icons disappeared and you can disconnect the enclosure from the computer i Safe To Remove Hardware The USB Mass Storage Device device can now be safely removed from the system IN MACINTOSH A You must unmount the hard drive system before disconnecting it or powering it down by dragging the hard drive icon to the trash B Once you ve entered Administrative Tools locate and double click on Computer Management
