SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 2 Power Source and Grounding 2 1 Power Source Use a power source with little voltage fluctuations If any other electrical equipment is sourced from the same power outlet make sure that the capacity of the outlet is not exceeded Never connect by means of a multiple socket any other appliances or machines to the outlet being used for the copier The outlet should be installed near the machine and should be easily accessible 2 2 Grounding Connect the grounding wire to the ground terminal of the outlet or a grounding contact which complies with the local electrical standards Never connect the grounding wire to a gas pipe the grounding wire for a telephone or a water pipe 3 Precautions for Use Never place a heavy object weighing 3 kg 7 lbs or more on the copier or subject the copier to shocks Do not open the Front Cover or turn OFF the copier while the copier is making copies Insert the Power Plug all the way into the outlet Keep the outlet easily visible and accessible Do not place the copier or an installation table in front of the outlet Do not bring any magnetized object near the copier Never use flammable sprays near the copier Do not place a vase or vessel containing water on the copier Use care not to drop paper clips staples or other small pieces of metal into the copier Do not attempt to remove any Cover that is secured Provide good ventilation when making a large number of copies continuously With EP2151 make sure that the Semi automatic Document Handler is lowered in position while the copier is not being used
