GENERAL INFORMATION
Ensto FinnMat is a pre-dimensioned thin underoor heating mat 130 W/m² with an adhesive net to ease
the installation. It is primarily intended for installation in leveling compound immediately under clinker,
parquet, laminate or plastic ooring.
• Installation of electrical heating is to be done in accordance with the national wiring rules and safety
regulations.
• Installation must only be carried out by an electrician with the appropriate qualications.
• It is not allowed to step on the heating mat. The heating cable and the cold cable connection shall
not be subjected to mechanical stress.
• The minimum bending radius of the heating cable is 30 mm.
• Heating mat is to be installed at the distance of at least 30 mm from conductive parts of the building,
such as water pipes.
• When installing FinnMat, the materials used must have the same thermal conductivity over the who-
le installation area.
• The heating cable shall not touch or cross itself at any point.
• The heating cable shall not be shortened.
• The heating cable shall not cross a construction joint or be laid in an area where there is a danger of
the slab cracking or overheating. The distance between the heating mat and other heat sources such
as sauna stoves or chimneys shall be at least 0.5 m.
• The thickness of the ooring material covering the cable must be at least 5 mm.
• Heating mat shall not be installed under xed furniture like closets.
• Never nail or drill a oor in which a heating mat has been installed.
• FinnMat heating element shall be controlled by a oor thermostat with a maximum temperature
limit of + 35 °C.
• FinnMat is to be supplied through a residual current device having a rated residual operating current
not exceeding 30 mA.
• An all-pole separating device of over voltage category III must be incorporated in the xed wiring of
FinnMat for disconnection from the supply mains.
• The installation of FinnMat is not recommended at a temperature of less than + 5 ºC.
• In a oor in which a FinnMat heating mat has been installed the heating resistance should not ex-
ceed 0,125 m² K/W. The oor to be heated should not be covered with a thick or otherwise well
insulating carpet.
• The suitability of the ooring material for under oor heating should be checked with the manu-
facturer.
• The measuring log of the installation protocol must be completed properly and carefully. The instal-
lation protocol and these installation instructions must be stored in a safe location so as to be avai-
lable after installation.
• A properly completed installation protocol is required for validating Ensto Finland Oys warranty.
• The warranty period for Ensto FinnMat heating mat is 10 years from the date of purchase but no
longer than 11 years from the date of manufacture. Warranty conditions, see www.ensto.com.

INSTALLATION
The oor surface shall be carefully cleaned before installing the heating mat. The oor shall be free of
stones or other sharp objects that can damage the cable. Uneven oor surfaces should be leveled before
installation of the heating mat. The primer shall be spread on the oor to ensure a proper adhesion of the
heating mat and the new layer of concrete.
