Chapter 22 Port Mirror Commands
Port Mirror refers to the process of forwarding copies of packets from one port to a monitoring port.
Usually, the monitoring port is connected to data diagnose device, which is used to analyze the
monitored packets for monitoring and troubleshooting the network.
22.1 monitor session destination interface
Description
The monitor session destination interface command is used to configure the
monitoring port. Each monitor session has only one monitoring port. To change
the monitoring port, please use the monitor session destination
interface
command by changing the port value. The no monitor session command is
used to delete the corresponding monitoring port or monitor session.
Syntax
monitor session session_num destination interface { gigabitEthernet port |
ten-gigabitEthernet port }
no monitor session session_num destination interface { gigabitEthernet
port | ten-gigabitEthernet port }
no monitor session session_num
Parameter
session_num —— The monitor session number, can only be specified as 1.
port —— The monitoring port number.

Privilege Requirement
Only Admin and Operator level users have access to these commands.
Example
Create monitor session 1 and configure port 1/0/1 as the monitoring port:
T1700G-28TQ(config)# monitor session 1 destination interface
gigabitEthernet 1/0/1
Delete the monitoring port 1/0/2 from monitor session 1
