config max_mcast_group
Purpose Used to configure the maximum number of multicast groups that a
port can join.
Syntax
config max_mcast_group ports <portlist> [ipv4 | ipv6]
max_group <integer 1-1024> action [drop | replace]
Description
The config max_mcast_group command is used to configure the
maximum number of multicast groups that a port can join.
Parameters
<portlist> – A range of ports t
o configure the maximum multicast
group.
[ipv4 | ipv6] – Specify the IPv4 or IPv6 to be configured.
max_group <integer 1-1024> –
Specifies the maximum number of
multicast groups. The range is from 1 to 1024.
action [drop | replace] – Specify the action for
handling newly
learned groups when the register is full. Specify drop and the new
group will be drooped. Specify replace to replace the eldest group in
the register table.
Restrictions Only Administrator or operator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To configure the IPv4 maximum multicast address groups on ports 1 and 3 as 100 with action drop:
DGS-1210-28MP/ME:5# config max_mcast_group ports 1-3 ipv4 max_group 100
action drop
Command: config max_mcast_group ports 1-3 ipv4 max_group 100 action drop
Success.

show max_mcast_group
Purpose To display maximum multicast group ports on the Switch.
Syntax
show max_mcast_group ports <portlist> {[ipv4 | ipv6]}
Description
The show max_mcast_group command displays the multicast
filtering profiles settings.
Parameters
<portlist> - Specify a port or range of ports to be displayed.
{[ipv4 | ipv6]} – Specify the IPv4 or IPv6 to be displayed.
Restrictions None.
Example usage:
To show IPv6 maximum multicast group port 1 and 3 settings:
DGS-1210-28MP/ME:5# show max_mcast_group ports 1,3 ipv6
Command: show max_mcast_group ports 1,3 ipv6
