INSTALLATION OF BATTERIES Slide and remove the battery cover 1 Pull out the battery container 3 using the attached strap 2 Slide batteries or rechargeable batteries into the battery container 3 Pay attention to positive and negative symbols marked on the walls of the container Insert the battery container 3 back into the battery compartment Make sure the battery container is re inserted properly particularly watching for the orientation of the battery container contacts Slide back the battery cover 1 to its original position Attention Do not use batteries of different types or batteries with various charge level because this may significantly decrease operating time OPERATION Remove the caps from the objective lens 4 and IR Illuminator 5 Press briefly the ON 6 button to turn on the unit a green indicator next to the eyepiece lights up In the lower right corner of the display battery charge level appears i l The flashing green light indicates that the battery power level is low The flashing red light indicates that the battery is empty Low battery indicator in the lower right corner becomes empty and its color turns red Locate an object within 20 to 30 meters Adjust image brightness by rotating the wheel 11 Brightness level from 1 to 15 is shown in the lower right corner of the display 1 Rotate the eyepiece 7 and the objective lens 4 to achieve a crisp image Upon start of the unit the auxiliary IR Illuminator activates The IR Illuminator operates at a wavelength of 940nm which allows the user to conduct covert observation at short distances Press the IR 8 button to activate the main IR Illuminator 5 To select IR Illuminator power press buttons 9 or 10 power increase and decrease respectively Power level from 1 to 15 is shown in the lower left corner of the display IR15 Note the user settings of display brightness and IR Illuminator power are stored in monocular s memory when the unit is turned off 3 If the unit is focused on an object closer than 15 metres the emission spot of the main IR illuminator bright light circle will be shifted to the right side of the display When changing the observation distance try to achieve a sharp and high quality image by rotating the objective lens 4 the brightness adjustment wheel 11 and by changing power level of the IR illuminator Do not rotate the eyepiece 7 the unit has already been individually adjusted To transmit the image observed to an external monitor or to record video connect the supplied video cable to the video output 12
