SET TIME OF DAY
When the unit is plugged in for the first time, a model
code and test number appear briefly in the display.
Then “12:00” and “PRESENT TIME” begin to flash.
1. Press r UP or s DOWN to set the present time.
Up moves the display ahead; down sets the time
back. Hold the button down for fast advance.
2. Press the PROGRAM button a few times, until the
time appears in the display, but is not flashing.
Run the start up cycle immediately after instal -
lation, before using any
water in the home.
After installation, it is normal for fine particles of the
activated carbon filtration media to cause a temporary
discoloration (gray color) to the water exiting the
system. Initiate the start up cycle to rinse these
particles and any discolored water down the drain.
To Initiate the start up cycle:
1. Make sure the drain hose is attached to the Central
Water Filtration
System and the other end is
secured over a drain (See Figure 1).
2. Make sure bypass valve is in the “service” (open or
filtered water) position and the home’s water
supply is turned on.
3. Press and hold the REFRESH button for a few
seconds. Release button when “RECHARGE
NOW” flashes in the display.
During the start up cycle:
Throughout the start up cycle you will notice the flow
of water to drain
starting and stopping. The start up
cycle will take approximately 20 minutes. Avoid using
water during this time. Do not interrupt the cycle by
pressing buttons or unplugging the transformer.
After the start up cycle:
Once the start up procedure completes, it cannot be
initiated a second time.
The Central Water Filtration
System will automatically return to the normal opera -
tion position. Once the start up cycle has run, open a
faucet in the home and allow water to run for 10 min -
utes at the system’s rated flow. If, after running the
start up cycle, the water still appears discolored,
manually run Refresh cycles (see below right) until
the water is clear. If the time of day was not set
before the start up cycle, set it now (see below left).
START A REFRESH CYCLE
To manually start a Refresh
cycle, press and hold
the
REFRESH button for a few
seconds. Release button
when “RECHARGE NOW”
flashes in the display.
SET NUMBER OF DAYS BETWEEN
REFRESH CYCLES
By default the Central Water Filtration System will
automatically run a Refresh cycle every 14 days. This
should be sufficient for most applications.
To change the number of days between Refresh cycles:
1. Press the PROGRAM
button several times, until
“RECHARGE” is shown in
the display.
2. Press
r UP or s DOWN
to set the n
umber of days
between Refresh cycles (from 1 to 99).
3. Press the PROGRAM button a few times, until the
time appears in the display, but is not flashing.
