Thermex N 15 U [17/44] Description and functioning

Thermex N 15 U [17/44] Description and functioning
of cold water to the EWH, upstream the safety valve (in the direction of water flow) it is necessary to
install a suitable pressure relief valve (not supplied with the EWH) to reduce the pressure of cold
water to normal. Installation of a pressure relief valve between the EWH and the safety valve is
prohibited;
to connect the EWH to the water supply without a safety valve;
џ
to drain the water from the EWH when the power is on;
џ
to use spare parts not recommended by the manufacturer;
џ
to use water from the EWH for cooking;
џ
to use water containing mechanical impurities (sand, small stones), which can lead to malfunction
џ
of the EWH and safety valve;
to switch on and operate the EWH with closed inlet and outlet valves (nipples).
џ
to change the design and mounting dimensions of the EWH brackets;
џ
4. Freezing of water in the device is unacceptable, as this leads to its malfunction, which is not a
warranty case.
5. The EWH is not intended for use by physically or mentally challenged persons, or by persons who
are unable to use the EWH, except when it is monitored or instructed by persons responsible for the
safety of the EWH. Children can use the EWH only under the supervision of persons who know how to
safely operate it. It is necessary to remember that there is a risk of scalding and electric shock.
6. If the purchaser does not comply with clauses 1–4 of this section, the manufacturer's warranty will
be voided.
7. Violation of the rules of the fire prevention regime in the Russian Federation, approved by
Government Resolution No. 390 of April 25, 2012, may lead to harm to life and health of a person, as
well as property.
8. During the operation of the EWH, it is necessary to regularly inspect the device for correct
operation (no smudges, smell of burning, sparking wires, etc.). In the event of long breaks in the
operation of the water heater, failures in the operation of water supply or electricity supply systems, it
is necessary to disconnect the EWH from the mains and close the cold water supply valve.
Description and functioning
The inner tank is made of high quality stainless steel, which provides high corrosion resistance and,
consequently, long service life. The space between the outer case and the inner tank is filled with
polyurethane foam a modern, ecologically clean thermal insulation, which has the best heat-saving
characteristics. The EWH has two threaded nipples: for cold water inlet (Fig. 1, item 3) with the blue
ring and hot water outlet (Fig. 1, item 2) with the red ring.
The control panel is located on the protective cover (Fig. 1, item 16).
A tubular electric heater, thermostat, and temperature switch sensors are mounted on the removable
flange. The tubular heater is used for heating water and is controlled by the thermostat, which has a
smooth temperature control of up to +74 °C (±5 °C). The thermostat automatically maintains the water
temperature at the level set by the user. The temperature control knob is located on the protective
cover (Fig. 1, item 17).
The temperature switch serves to protect the EWH from overheating and disconnects the tubular
heater from the mains when the water temperature exceeds +93 °C (±5 °C).
An indicator lamp (Fig.1, item 18), which is an indicator of the heating of water in the EWH, is located
on the front side of the EWH. If the indicator lamp is on, the water is heating up, and the lamp is off
when the temperature set by the customer is reached.

Installation and connection
All installation, plumbing, and electrical work must be carried out by qualified
personnel only.
Location and installation
Installation of the EWH should be performed in accordance with the marking indicated on the
enclosure and the following table:
Marking
N 10 O, N 15 O
Volume, (l) Location
10, 15 O – Vertical, nipples down
It is recommended to install the EWH as close as possible to the place of use of hot water in order to
reduce heat losses in the pipes. The EWH is hung by the brackets of the enclosure on the hooks of the
anchors (supplied with the EWH) fixed in the wall.
Installation of hooks in the wall should prevent spontaneous movement of the EWH brackets along
them. When choosing the installation site, the total weight of the EWH filled with water must be taken
into account. Wall and floor with a low supporting capacity should be strengthened accordingly. To
maintain the EWH, the distance from the protective cover to the nearest surface in the direction of the
axis of the removable flange must be at least 0.5 meters.
In order to avoid harming the property of the customer and (or) third parties in the event of a faulty hot
water supply system, it is necessary to install the EWH in rooms that have waterproof floors and drain
to the sewage system, and not to place items exposed to water under the EWH. When placing the
EWH in unprotected rooms, it is necessary to install a safe tray underneath (not supplied with the
EWH) properly drained to the sewer.
In the case of placing the EWH with difficult access for technical and warranty maintenance
(mezzanines, niches, inter-ceiling spaces, etc.), installation and dismantling of the EWH will be
performed by the customer independently or at his or her expense.
Water connection
It is necessary to supply cold water to the EWH using at least 200 μm primary filter.
Install the safety valve (5) at the inlet of the cold water (3) – the nipple with the blue ring, for 3,5 – 4
turns, ensuring tightness of the connection with any sealing material (flax, FUM tape, etc.).
The safety valve is a non-return valve which prevents water from entering the water supply system
from the water heater in case of pressure drop in the former, and in cases of increasing pressure in the
tank with strong water heating, and also the safety valve relieves excess pressure in the tank when
the water is heated up strongly. During operation of the water heater, water can leak from the safety
valve drain pipe (7) to relieve excess pressure, which occurs for the safety of the water heater. This
drain pipe should remain open to the atmosphere and be installed permanently down and in a non-
freezing environment.
WARNING! It is forbidden to operate the EWH without a safety valve or use a valve of
other manufacturers.
It is necessary to ensure the drainage of water from the drain pipe of the safety valve to the sewage
system, providing an appropriate drainage (8) during installation of the EWH.
