7 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

7.1 WORK AREA

Thoroughly inspect the entire work area and remove anything that could be thrown from the

machine or damage the cutting device.

7.2 HARNESS

Correct harness adjustment allows the machine to have good balance and a suitable height

above the ground (Fig. 11).

7.2.1 Simple harness (3S, Fig. 2)

1. Place the machine on a flat, stable surface.

2. Wear the simple harness.

3. Hook the machine onto the harness using the carabiner (A, Fig. 11).

4. Position the hook (18, Fig. 2) to obtain the best balance of the machine.

5. Position the buckle to obtain the correct machine height.

7.2.2 Double harness (BCH 50 T - DSH 500 T)

1. Place the machine on a flat, stable surface.

2. Put on the double harness (3T, Fig. 2).

3. Hook the buckle (A, Fig. 12) in the belt area and adjust it using the upper strap (B, Fig. 12).

4. Hook the buckle (C, Fig. 12) in the chest area.

5. Adjust the shoulder straps with the two straps (D, Fig. 13).

NOTE

With this harness, the operator can choose to distribute the load more on the

shoulders or in the belt.

6. Adjust the strap (E, Fig. 12), chest area.

7. Hook the machine onto the harness using the carabiner (A, Fig. 11).

8. Adjust the height of the machine from the ground by adjusting the two straps (H-L, Fig. 14).

The correct distance between the belt and the carabiner can be measured as in Fig. 11. This

adjustment also helps to distribute the weight correctly in order to properly balance the

machine.
