9.4.1 Trimming

• Hold the trimmer head just above the ground at an angle. It is the end of the thread that

does the work. Let the thread work at its own pace. Never push the thread into the area to

be cut.

• The thread can easily remove grass and weeds up against walls, fences, trees and borders;

however it can also damage sensitive bark on trees and bushes, and damage fence posts.

• Reduce the risk of damaging plants by shortening the thread to 10-12 cm and reducing the

engine speed.

9.4.2 Thinning

The thinning technique removes all unwanted vegetation.

Proceed as follows:

• Keep the trimmer head just above the ground and tilt it.

• Allow the end of the thread to hit the ground around trees, poles, statues and similar

objects.

• The thread wears quicker and must be fed forward more often when working against stones,

brick, concrete, metal fences, etc., than when coming into contact with trees and wooden

fences.

WARNING

During trimming and thinning, the engine should run at a lower speed than full

speed to allow longer thread life and reduce wear of the trimmer head.

9.4.3 Cutting action

The machine is ideal for cutting grass that is difficult to reach with a normal grass trimmer:

• When cutting, keep the thread parallel to the ground without tilting the trimmer head and

perform the operation as indicated in Fig. 25.

WARNING

Avoid contact between the trimmer head and the ground. This can damage the

machine and ruin the lawn.

9.4.4 Quick thinning

• The fan effect of the rotating thread can be used for quick and easy clearing up. Keep the

thread above the ground to be cleared in a parallel position and swing the trimmer forwards

and backwards.

• When cutting and thinning you should use full throttle for best results.

WARNING

Never mow if visibility is poor or in extreme temperatures or freezing conditions.
