- The circuit consists of relay iamp diode and switches and decides to live the ignition coil depending on the position of the transmission and side stand with the neutral and side stand switches work ing mutually the ignition coil lives only in two situations as follows 1 transmission neutral on side stand down off 144

SERVICING INFORMATION BATTERY Complaint Symptom and possible causes Remedy Sulfation acidic white powdery sub stance or spots on sur faces of cell plates 1 Battery case is cracked 2 Battery has been left in a run down condition for a long time Replace the battery Replace the battery Battery runs down 1 The charging system is not correct Check the generator regulator rectifier and circuit connections and make neces sary adjustments to obtain specified charg ing operation Replace the battery and correct the charg ing system Replace the battery quickly 2 Cell plates have lost much of their active material as a result of overcharging 3 A short circuit condition exists within the battery 4 Battery voltage is too low 5 Battery is too old Battery sulfation Battery discharges too rapidly Recharge the battery fully Replace the battery 1 Charging rate too low or too high When not in use batteries should be recharged at least once a month to avoid sulfation 2 The battery left unused for too long in cold climate Replace the battery Dirty container top and sides Clean Replace the battery if badly sulfated
