ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT ENG ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT TRANSMISSION AND CRANKSHAFT 1 Install Transmission Shift cam Shift forks Guide bar Rear Longer Guide bar Front Shorter NOTE __________________________________ Each shift forks is identified by a number cast on its side All the numbers should face the left side 2 Check Shifter operation Unsmooth operation Repair NOTE __________________________________ Oil each gear and bearing thoroughly Before assembling the crankcase be sure that the transmission is in neutral and that the gears turn freely 3 Install Crankshaft Into the crankcase Left NOTE _________________________________ Install the tapered end of the crankshaft Left side into the crankcase Align the left connecting rod with the rear cylinder sleeve hole The rod must be in this hole when the crank shaft is properly installed 4 38
