1. Initial Configuration
Use the console port for the initial configuration. Afterwards you can use telnet for management. Connect the
network module to a serial (COM) port of a computer using a console cable. Use a terminal emulation program,
for example, Windows’ built-in HyperTerminal, with the following parameters:
VT100 terminal emulation 9600 bps No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, No flow control
2. How To Set Up IP Parameters
Use the following command sequence to set the IP address, default gateway and the subnet mask of the
Ethernet port of a network module.
1. 192.168.1.1> ip
2. 192.168.1.1 ip> enable ether <new ip address> [<subnet mask>]
3. <new ip address> ip> route delete default
4. <new ip address> ip> route add default 0.0.0.0 <default gateway> 00:00:00:00
5. <new ip address> ip> config save
where
<new ip address> = The IP address you want to configure into the network module.
<default gateway> = The default gateway IP address of the network module.
<subnet mask> = The subnet mask of the IP address that you want to configure into
the network module.
3. How To Set Up ADSL Ports
Use the following command sequence to set the upstream rate, downstream rate and operation mode of any
ADSL port on the AAM1008 network module:
1. 192.168.1.1> adsl
2. 192.168.1.1 adsl> set profile <profile name> <atur max rate> <atuc max rate>
3. 192.168.1.1 adsl> set port <port number> <profile name> <oper mode>
where
<profile name> = Name of your profile.
<port number> = Port number, from 1 to 8.
<atur max rate> = Maximum ADSL upstream speed in Kbps, from 32 to 1024.
<atuc max rate> = Maximum ADSL downstream speed in Kbps, from 32 to 8160.
<oper mode> = Operational mode. Choose “glite”, “gdmt”, “t1413” or “auto” for Annex A.
Choose “anxb”, “etsi” or “auto” for Annex B.
For examples, refer to the
user’s guide
. Enter the list ports command to view the status of all ports.
