Safety functions
Your cooking plate features many safety functions protecting you as user and also the appliance from
accidental or dangerous operation situations.
Automatic switch-off
If there is no further input within 10 seconds after switch-on, the control switches automatically back to
the off mode.
Safety switch-off at continuous application
If one or several sensors are applied for more than 12 seconds (e. g. by objects or spilt food on the
operating panel), there will be an audible error indication (warning signal) and the cooking zones will be
automatically locked (mode “Automatic locking”).
Self-help: Remove the reason for the continuous application. The appliance can be put into operation
again afterwards.
Residual heat indication
The residual heat indication warns you after switch-off from the hot cooking zone,
but also advises you of the residual heat which can be used.
The display shows the symbol “H”. Do not touch the hot cooking zone!
The residual heat indication remains active also in off mode.
Child-proof lock
The child-proof lock allows for locking the sensors in order to avoid any accidental change of the settings.
The control continuous working in the previously set mode (also in off mode), however, no other sensors –

lock remains also active in off mode.
Residual heat indication
If a cooking zone is switched off and still emits residual heat, the display will show an “H” for HOT. The
display remains also active in off mode and will only distinguish if the appliance is disconnected from the
mains or if there is no residual heat. Do not touch the hot cooking zone! The residual heat can be used for
keeping-warm.
Dual-circuit
Your cooking plate features a dual-circuit heating zone which enlarges the cooking surface (or
one cooking surface at the double cooking plate) from 140 mm Ø to 210 mm Ø by setting an
outer heating circuit in addition.
The set cooking level will not be changed by setting the dual-circuit in addition.
Activating the dual-circuit
The dual-circuit can only be activated if the respective cooking zone is active (cooking level 1 – 9). For
activating the large heating zone, apply the corresponding dual-circuit sensor. The glowing LED above the
sensor shows you that the outer heating circuit 210 mm Ø is additionally active.
Deactivating the dual-circuit
If you want to set back to the small heating circuit, apply the dual-circuit sensor again. The LED above the
sensor goes out and shows you that the outer heating circuit is deactivated.
